Description
The GRAMMY Museum will host GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter and composer Gary Lucas for an on-stage interview and performance. Regarded as a "thinking man's guitar hero," Gary Lucas continues to catch the attention of critics everywhere. Lucas tours the world relentlessly both solo and with several different ensembles, including his longtime band Gods and Monsters, whose ranks once included the late singer Jeff Buckley. He was also the last guitarist in Capt Beefheart’s Magic Band. Following the passing of Don Van Vliet, Lucas has presented a symposium on the work of Capt Beefheart at clubs and universities around the country. After the interview, Lucas will take questions from the audience and perform a selection of songs. GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares Vice President Scott Goldman, a great guitarist himself, will conduct the interview as well as play a few tunes on stage with Lucas.
