Just in time for the spooky season, the deathless Dracula once again stalks the stage. Lucy Seward has fallen sick to a mysterious illness and Professor Van Helsing suspects a vampire might be feeding off the physician's daughter. Bram Stoker's unnerving tale comes to life in this stage adaptation. Watch as both plot and blood thicken in the original Broadway version of the story, a melodrama that featured the debut of Bela Lugosi as the infamous Count Dracula. Learn More
We didn't bring chairs as we wanted to sit closer. I would recommend the chairs that are flat on the ground but have a back to them. It would be a lot more comfortable. Also bring a jacket, even though it was a warm day, the temperature dropped quite a bit in the evening. So dress appropriately.Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival 2014 info • Aug 25 2014 star this tip starred

This was an above average outdoor production of "Twelfth Night", with all the advantages and disadvantages inherent therein. Advantages - an idyllic setting; disadvantages - sometimes difficult to hear, hard ground (not chairs allowed. The Red Velvet area was nicely delineated with a colored tarp and nicely positioned, so that was a plus. The performances were as you might expect in an outdoor setting - some exaggeration of gesture and broad humor. Still, a very pleasant way to spend an evening - take a picnic and go early. I think the performances (all perfectly adequate or better) might have paled in comparison to the Actor's Gang production we saw the previous evening. Still, well worht going.
