Written on Dec 18 2012A fun excursion into the magical world of Harry Potter. Kids dressed in robes and brought wands. Lots of Diagon Alley shopping opportunities. The serving staff were Hermoine, Potter and Draco. And the room was reminiscent of the great hall all done up for Yule.
Written on Dec 18 2012It was a great time - the food was delicious and we really enjoyed being served by Harry, Hermoine and even Draco! The great hall was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Photo ops were abundant. I highly recommend it if you love the Harry Potter series.
Written on Dec 17 2012I love going to Whimsic Alley. It is a must for anyone who calls them self a Potter fan. They did a great job decorating for Christmas. I got to meet Harry, Hermione, and Draco. Harry looked so much like Daniel Radcliffe. I sent a picture to my brother and he actually thought it was Daniel Radcliffe! The characters were very friendly and talked to all the guests. They had British accents and stayed in character the whole time. It was really sweet to watch Harry interact with the kids sitting next to me.
You have a choice of tea or hot cocoa. I saw that if you choose cocoa you get marshmallows and whipped cream. You get a lot of food. They bring out a three tiered tower. The bottom plate had finger sandwiches and the top two plates had cookies and sweets.
The character look-alikes were more than happy to pose for pictures and even let me hold their wand!
The experience itself was really awesome. The only thing I take a star off for is the quality of the tea. The hot water wasn't really HOT. It was more like really warm.
Written on Dec 17 2012This was a Harry Potter-themed tea at Whimsic Alley. Tea is served whilst seated at "house" tables in the Great Hall. Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Draco Malfoy serve your tea (or cocoa as well as a selection of tea sandwiches and treats. The servers were very friendly and always willing to stop for a photo-op. A great time was had by all.
