How ironic that a show famous for a song named "Tradition" should be so ground-breaking. But never before (or since) has a musical been as sweeping or so insanely entertaining as Fiddler on the Roof, winner of nine Tony Awards and prime candidate for greatest Broadway musical of all time. Fiddler follows the life of Tevye, a poor dairyman in a small village in czarist Russia. Teyve attempts to honor the Jewish religious customs of his ancestors, but dangerous forces threaten the village's ancient way of life. It's Teyve's faith and deep love for his family that gives him the strength to fight on, even as the world changes around him. The Kentwood Players stage this musical filled with such favorites as "If I Were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "Tradition" and "Sunrise, Sunset." Learn More

There were quite a few mistakes during this play, perhaps because it was so close to the opening date. Slow moving, acting needs improvement. We left at the intermission (never do that).Young Helen was OK, did not see the older Helen.
