The GRAMMY Museum is proud to welcome Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and music and film producer Chris Blackwell for an interview moderated by GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli. In 1958, Blackwell started Island Records which grew to become the most successful independent record company in the world releasing music from Cat Stevens, Jimmy Cliff, Nick Drake, Grace Jones, The B-52s, Tom Waits, Marianne Faithfull, Roxy Music, U2 and Bob Marley. In addition to producing and releasing records, Blackwell also had a successful career in the movie industry producing Kiss of the Spider Woman, A Trip to Bountiful, She's Gotta Have It and Koyaanisqatsi. Having brought the best of Jamaica to the world through music, Blackwell is now working to bring the best of the world to Jamaica, reawakening sophisticated and responsible travelers to the beauty and vibe of Jamaica through his Island Outpost resorts. During this special event Blackwell will discuss his remarkable career, current projects and how his passion has led to many critically acclaimed worldwide hits. After the interview Blackwell will take questions from the audience.
