Description

An evening of song and dance where jazz gives classical a whole new swing!

JAZZICAL! is a celebratory musical revue in the tradition of great Broadway Hits such as "Ain't Misbehavin" and "Eubie!" incorporating classical music in the tradition of the wildly successful "Three Tenors" and "Three 'Mo Tenors"

In addition to a stellar vocal cast that includes T.C. Carson, BJ Crosby and J. Rosalynn Smith-Clark, Opera Noir has assembled the hottest cast of dancers to be found in Los Angeles, including Assistant Choreographer, Bethany Strong just off of the Janet Jackson Tour, and Steven Smith former Principal Dancer of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Oits Sallid is the Director/Choreographer.

Opera Noir presents its fifth annual Juneteenth Gala at the beautifully restored Orpheum Theatre. The organization is committed to promoting cultural diversity in the classical arts while promoting and performing the works of African American composers and artists. In the spirit of trailblazing companies like Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Opera Noir seeks to encourage and preserve an essential component of the American artistic landscape. The music of African American composers, and the performances of artists of color provide the work with a shared cultural experience and an opportunity to initiate a dialogue that encourages embracing cultural diversity.
