Great time; very entertaining! A+ for people watching. Doors open at 6 p.m. but show does not start until 8 p.m.; they stop letting people in at 1/2 time which is around 9 p.m. Recommend getting there a little before the show starts (7:30ish) or else you will be waiting around! There is beer and wine; also a few vendors outside (Hot dog on a Stick, yummy tamales!). Parking across the street for $8.Written on Oct 26 2009

Had a good time at an afternoon session that featured some of the up and coming girls. Because that didn't have as much experience, the derby was a bit more polite than a regular bout might have been. That said, had a good time. Staff was courteous - though they didn't open the doors at the listed time. Also, the promoters are apparently in a tiff with local neighbors who are annoyed with the fans parking in their neighbornood. I say too bad...if they don't like it, they can move.Written on Jun 29 2009

I was completely new to Roller Derby, and I've got to say...it was a riot! It should certainly be on your must do list. You just can't go wrong with this! A little heads up - go early! This has quite a following and people line up well in advance.Written on Sep 12 2011

About the Ticket Supplier: LA Derby Dolls
Founded in 2003, the L.A. Derby Dolls are Southern California's premiere women's banked-track, quad-skating roller derby league. Within the league, five fierce teams battle for dominance: Fight Crew, Sirens, Swarm, Tough Cookies and Varsity Brawlers. While their uniforms may be stylish and their names playful, do not be fooled by appearances - the L.A. Derby Dolls are athletes who skate a sport that is unscripted and real. Honored as a Treasure of Los Angeles by the Central City Association, the L.A. Derby Dolls embody the do-it-yourself, "for the skaters, by the skaters" ethos of modern women's roller derby.
