There was not a lot to do on Sunday except a 20 minute play and shop, and the Zorba's Feast that we were supposed to get was not the same as it was supposed to be. They ran out of a lot of the items for the meal and substituted much lesser things for it. For example, they were out of moussaka and gave us cold french fries instead without asking us for it. They did this with several of the items and what we got was a plate with mostly rice with assorted leftovers. I could understand this, maybe, if we were there late but we decided to go at the opening and do lunch. This was NOT worth even the reduced price we paid through Goldstar.Written on Sep 08 2008

Great food - expensive but worth it. Visit the church if you can, worth it. They need more Greek handicrafts to buy, meager selection. Music and shows were entertaining, and just the people watching of all the Greek people of LA in one spot was interesting.Written on Sep 29 2008

I was very disapointed with this event, My friend and I got there in the evening and walked around had a drink and then headed to the food court for the zorba's feast that I had purchased through goldstar and to my surprise, they were out of food !!!!! It was only 9 pm ........ on a saturday night!!!!!! Alot of people were so upset including my self..... I could had avoided the trip into the bad neighborhood of LA (where this event was located) and gone to a greek restaurant instead.Written on Sep 09 2008

I never post comments, but I will this time.Written on Sep 08 2008
The Greek Festival was the worst street Festival I have ever attended.
The lines were too long. The main food booths where I was supposed to redeem my food vouchers ran out of food and this was just before 9:00 P.M., so, they were obviously unprepared. After waiting about 15 minutes or so, they finally got a few bland pork kabobs together and I was charged for a whole plate. The vouchers were not taken, and when I asked why, I got attitude, and that is mainly why I am writing. I then proceeded to get some more food, down the way at another booth. I waited in a long line to get cold lamb chops, and cold fries.
On one and only one positive note, the fried Greek dough balls were delicious but we waited again 15 minutes to get them. From this booth, there was also rude attitude from the workers, who were all drinking.
I would say 80% of the booth handlers we went to had somewhat of an attitude. I don't know if it's a Greek thing, an L.A. thing, or both. It was as if they were all about the money, but couldn't care less if the patrons were happy about the food, service, or anything else. Also, there was no parking offered, and very little in the street. It was a terrible neighborhood. I am lucky I didn't get mugged from the car to the festival.
I am getting a little tired of people and festivals who have no problem taking but can't, and don't give back, with no remorse or apologies. I will never attend this event again.
