The L.A. Opera celebrates its 25th anniversary with a pair of very special concerts featuring its general director, legendary tenor and 12-time Grammy Award-winner Plácido Domingo, as he sings excerpts from some of his favorite operas and conducts a program starring the talented performers of his own prestigious Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program. Goldstar members will receive exclusive reserved seating for these two extraordinary performances, as acclaimed music director James Conlon joins Domingo in guiding their up-and-coming singers and pianists, currently in transition from academic training to a professional career in opera. Domingo and Conlon will also participate in a post-show "Meet the Maestros" session, as part of an all-day open house which offers the entire family a fascinating peek behind the curtain at how a world class opera operates.

Seeing Placido Domingo for the first time live and up close was a real treat. His group of young opera singers were an extremely talented youth that didn't leave me with a dry eye. The orchestra was spot on and humor was even incorporated at the end to leave everyone with a smile from ear to ear. Fabulous way to spend an afternoon.Written on Nov 12 2011

Performance were very good, but they kept letting people into the section for seating which caused chaos in the section and detracted from the show. Some were very rude.Written on Nov 07 2011
