It was like a senior citizen, low buget play rather than opera. I felt that it was inaccurately described for the sale.

We enjoyed the singers, but the orchestra needed some work. The costumes were very good and the dinner was very good too! Look forward to more of these events.

The performance was very well executed, including the direction, acting, singing, staging, and more.
The only shortcoming, which is important, is that the talents of the major perfomers were not at par with each other, and the stronger voices kept bringing this lack of comformity to surface. The gifted soprano outsung everyone else, followed by the elder Messr. Germont, then everyone else at varying degrees.
Overall, it was most enjoyable, and, as I said ......."I liked it".

I enjoyed the event very much. The dinner was complete and delicious.
The opera was very, very well done. The singers had very good voices and were good actors and actresses as well. The costumes were beautiful and the sets were very nice. All in all, a delightful experience.

Throughly enjoyed the whole package. The dinner was long and relaxed. A little music during dining would have been nice. But the show was fun, charming and everything a smaller opera company could be.
I would do it again and again.

The time between scene changes was way too long. The whole production was a bit unorganized. However the singers were very good, which made up for it. The food was good, not great. Although the description said vegetarian was available, the vegetarian entree was just a plate of green beans and roasted potatoes (minus the chicken they gave everyone else.) However, all in all, it was fun.

Parking was difficult. Nice family environment. Wine was very good and reasonably priced. Dinner was pretty good considering banquet style. Opera cast and orchestra was very good.

The event was rather pleasant. Some overbooking.
But people seemed to enjoy themselves.
The orchestra played well. The soprano and the Baritone gave an impressive performance. I had a hard time hearing the tenor and would suggest that he uses a microphone in a room this size.

A quirky, fun afternoon. Similar to one I went to in Philly's Italian neighborhood many years ago. A true neighborhood event. Some of the performers were clearly nothing more than opera fans who wanted to be in a show, while others had true talent. A nice and entertaining mix of people on stage and in the audience.

I enjoyed the food and singers. And this is a great way for a curious person to experience opera for the first time. I'm looking forward to attending more goldstar events.

More Details
Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata is fully staged with orchestra and chorus, and sung in Italian.
Ticket includes a homestyle Italian meal, which is served before the performance.
La Traviata created an outrage with its sympathetic portrayal of Violetta, the ailing courtesan who is redeemed by love. When she learns of Alfredo's adoration for her, sickly Violetta hesitantly abandons a life of revelry to live with her lover, and the two are blissfully happy. But Alfredo's father warns Violetta that her scandalous past threatens his son's future and asks her to abandon her lover. A tormented Violetta agrees to return to her old ways, leaving Alfredo furious at her apparent betrayal. Overcome with grief, Violetta falls mortally ill, and Alfredo's father, taking pity on her, informs his son of her sacrifice. Alfredo rushes to Violetta's side, arriving in time for a rapturous deathbed duet.
