9 of us drove to eat at Korean BBQ, in Korea town, that took us about 10 min or so to arrive to. If your in such a large group I suggest breaking it up in two to be seated much faster, also read rules as restuarant we sat at charged for meat left over by the pound? We also ended choosing the 9.99 menue each and somehow ended up paying a $20 gratuity fee, that unless it was written in Korean we did not know about prior, nor told about. This turned out to be less than what we normally would have tipped., hidden fees are just not fun.

It was hard to sit still during this fun Latin jazz concert! Dr. Bobby Rodriguez is quite the showman--a born entertainer. With great work from his brassy band, plus a delightful star turn from guest vocalist Niki Haris, it's clear why this...continued

I enjoyed myself. However, the tickets bought through goldstar were not at the "will call" table. We had to talk to a manager, who had us wait for a while until we could be verified. They then gave us whatever tickets they had at hand. It would...continued

Quotes & Highlights

“Rodriguez is both a first-rate jazz trumpeter and an ebullient, entertaining performer… he devoted his entire program to Latin rhythm transformations of Christmas music — from salsa-drenched versions of ‘O Tannenbaum’ and ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ to a sweetly lyrical flugelhorn rendering of ‘The Christmas Song.’” —Los Angeles Times

Description

Grammy nominee Dr. Bobby Rodriguez returns to the Luckman Fine Arts Complex with his crowd-pleasing annual LatinJazz Christmas show, featuring Rodriguez’s 23-piece LatinJazz Orchestra.

A high-energy, family-friendly event, the LatinJazz Christmas show has been performed at the Luckman and other venues since 1997. Rodriguez is a consummate trumpeter whose warm-hearted humor and brilliant musicianship make his show a standout among Southern California’s holiday concert offerings. The nonstop musical treats will include favorite tunes with a Latin twist: “Feliz Navidad” in cha-cha-cha, “Deck the Halls” in merengue, “O Christmas Tree” in salsa, “Jingle Bells” in samba and many more.

Canned goods and unwrapped toys will also be collected at the show, so please feel free to bring any that you would like to donate. Donation is not required for admission.

Born and raised in East Los Angeles, Latin legend and Grammy-nominated artist Dr. Bobby Rodriguez is a trumpeter, dynamic leader, charismatic performer/entertainer, gifted composer/arranger, author and an award-winning educator.
