The Groundlings presents The Completely Different Late Show, a wild improv explosion by the cast of the Groundlings' Main Company. Audience suggestions are taken throughout the night for improvised scenes to be performed by the best in the business. It's also a testing ground for brand new material that may be headed for the Groundlings' main show. Famous alumni include Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Pat Morita, Lisa Kudrow and Paul Reubens, who created his Pee-wee Herman character there. First, I am a huge fan of the Groundlings. I have seen almost all of their mainstage Friday/Sat. night shows for years. This show was a huge disappointment and my least favorite of all times. I may have eeked out a small laugh once in a while but that's it. It just wasn't funny, skits were weird, and I'm surprised how banal the material has been in the past two shows. I asked my sig other and he thought the same as well as the people on both sides of us. Sorry Groundlings...we love what you used to be. We are taking a break from the Groundlings hoping they find their way back to the spotlight with good material.Written on Sep 19 2011

The show was a combination of improv and sketch comedy. It was really enjoyable and a long show, so definitely worth the money. I am definitely going to go again!Written on Aug 09 2011

My fourth visit to The Groundlings Theater. Always hilarious. A great way to spend an evening. The band is really good too. Such a sharp and talented group!Written on Aug 15 2011

The Best of SNL, In Living Color or MAD TV but "in person" and "really live". The live band is great, seats comfortable, performers top notch -- I can not imagine how hard the improv part of the job is!!!Written on Aug 01 2011
