This was the first time I came to this show. I really like it. It was quite a high-quality show with pricy artwork, which I didn't really expect (the pricy part). I was glad to see 70%+ of the work on dislay being comtemporary ones. A lot of them a very good - but none are striking enough for me to want to take it home (disregarding the price factor, just based on taste). And that is the reason for the 1 missing star from my rating. I will definitely go there again next year but will also adjust my expectation based on my experience.

The exhibit had more modern art than I thought. I am not a big fan of modern, however, I did see a few pieces i liked. The exhibit was well organized and quite a few Obama art pieces!! Parking lot fee of $20 too much and unfortunatley Stanford Univ had an event the same day which backed up traffic to the lot. I loved that Goldstar offered these tix for half off..very easy to pick up at will call.

Description

The 14th Annual Los Angeles Art Show moves to its new venue in 2009. Only the Los Angeles Convention Center could hold this year's unprecedented showcase including over 135 prominent galleries from around the globe, exhibiting for sale a dazzling array of art from Rembrandt to Ruscha and beyond. Whether you're out to acquire or simply be inspired, you must experience the powerful impact of over 15,000 paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, video, and sculpture, from master works of the past to cutting edge contemporary, at this internationally acclaimed event. The most important encyclopedic international art fair in the world awaits you!

The Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA) and KR Martindale Show Management are pleased to announce the leap of the Los Angeles Art Show (LA Art Show) to the Los Angeles Convention Center beginning with the 2009 show. Now in its 14th year, the move will nearly double the size of the LA Art Show and increase the number of international galleries exhibiting. With 2008 exhibition figures exceeding 30,000 visitors and achieving record-setting multi-million dollar art sales, the 2009 fair promises to be the most innovative and eclectic show to date. According to show producer, Kim Martindale, "Los Angeles is a destination for art. The well-established Los Angeles Art Scene is diverse and continuing to expand both in the number of galleries and collectors locally and internationally situated. The Los Angeles Art Show's move to the LA Convention Center mirrors this growth."

The IFPDA's 24th Annual Los Angeles Fine Print Fair will accompany the Los Angeles Art Show at this new location. With more than 15,000 significant paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings and prints on display and available for purchase, the LA Art Show brings together the Los Angeles art community at this apex event. Los Angeles' distinction as a world-renowned center for art has increased in prominence over the last decade, characterizing the region as a vibrant cultural arena with an enthusiastic art collecting market. It is within this exciting environment that the Los Angeles Art Show has developed and attained its reputation as the most important encyclopedic art fair in North America. The works presented at the Los Angeles Art Show have been vetted for authenticity and represent a select group of the world's top galleries.
