Travel back in time and experience an amazing night of obscure, naughty and lovely tunes from the 1920s and '30s. Stylish flapper Janet Klein is a true ukelele lady, and along with her band members, The Parlor Boys, will treat you to spirited and inspired renditions of Tin Pan Alley, early hot jazz, vaudeville, Yiddish novelty numbers, ragtime and other lovable, rare and rustic tunes. Film historian Jerry Beck opens the show with rare vintage 16mm film clips. Janet Klein and her Parlor Boys' latest CD release -- their seventh -- is titled Whoopee Hey Hey! Tunes to Cheer in Tumultuous Times, and reflects current-day concerns with rare and upbeat songs from the Depression era. Learn More

We go to a lot of shows at Trepany, and know to keep an open mind when seeing a new one here. That said, in hindsight this one seemed a bit over-rated to us. Clearly some friends/fans in the audience - which is OK, of course, but doesn't necessarily mean you'll love him, too. If you like the tired, distracted, cynical type and don't demand much of your magicians - OK. He had a few really good tricks, but lots of dopey slow periods, too. Sort of a goth Pee-Wee, maybe?

This was the worst show I've ever been to. From beginning to end, it was not entertaining and besides it was just lame. The relationship he faked with the moon was so stupid and annoying. Save your money, time and sanity and just say no.
