One of the most sacred taboos in theater is broken when mime and spoken word unite in Human Identity, a solo show from Christopher Vened. A star of Henryk Tomaszewski's world-famous Wroclaw Pantomime Theater, Vened was the toast of the Eastern European theater scene until he daringly defected while on tour in the West. In the decades since, he's become an influential force in the worlds of performance and training, writing a key textbook and teaching at UCLA. Funny, inventive and eye-opening, his latest piece of "monodrama theatre" is nothing less than a quest to figure out the meaning of human identity. Learn More

I'd like to give this show a good review because it's clear that the actor in this one-man show is trying very hard and I appreciate his effort. But the sad fact is that the show is disappointing. It's essentially 3 main characters, all of whom feel that either they have or will soon let their dreams slip away. The best character is an old Jewish lady who can be funny, but isn't most of the time. The actor seems to have less of a feel for the other 2 characters. In between segments, the actor sings which is unfortunate, because he doesn't have a good voice.
