great venue. Seats were a great and at a bargain price for a top concert with top performers. L.A can sometimes be a real drag endless traffic, $15 to park on a park lawn that one pays taxes to maintain. But listening to the great music on a warm summer night at the intimate Greek theater is truly a special L.A. experience to be enjoyed to the fullest.

Unfortunately, these guys must have started right on time, because I missed at least 3 of Mike McD's songs. Getting to the Greek via freeway sucks big time...too much traffic. Otherwise, the performances were great. Both of these guys still have nice voices. And, there's no bad seat in the Greek!

Who would have thought that Michael McDonald was not the main act and that he would go on first. We missed most of the show due to horrific traffic and parking and so disappointed that we missed most of Michael's performance. Also the will call could not find our tickets so that took time away from show as well...

Description

Two unmistakable voices in American music, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs, will be coheadlining at the Greek Theatre. Michael McDonald has been making music for over three decades. He first came to the forefront as the lead singer for the Doobie Brothers but continued on to pursue a successful solo career. McDonald is the creator of such hits as, “I Keep Forgettin,” the Grammy-winning “Yah Mo B There” and the #1 pop single “On My Own.” His latest album, Soul Speak, is the natural follow-up to McDonald’s two smash explorations of the Motown Records songbook—the platinum-selling Motown from 2003, which was nominated for two Grammy awards and 2004’s gold-selling Motown Two. McDonald has been awarded five Grammys during his illustrious career.

Multi-dimensional singer, Boz Scaggs is also a Grammy award winner and has been making hits since the 1970’s. His 1976 album Silk Degrees was one of the landmark pop titles of the decade and reached #2 on the album charts while spawning the Top Three single "Lowdown," as well as the smash "Lido Shuffle." 1977's Down Two Then Left was also a success and 1980's Middle Man reached the Top Ten on the strength of the singles "Breakdown Dead Ahead" and "Jo Jo." His latest album, Speak Low, is the sublime and sexy follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2003 standards collection But Beautiful.
