2-person long-form improv guided by a director. The two performers start with a scene based on audience suggestions, and then the director suggests new scenes to expand the action based on what has come before.
I was disappointed because the language and content often wandered into R-rated territory. It's not that I was offended, but to me that's lazy comedy, getting people to laugh because they're shocked rather than because you're being funny.
For better long-form Groundlings improv, I'd recommend the Crazy Uncle Joe Show (http://www.goldstar.com/events/los-angeles-ca/the-crazy-uncle-joe-show.html). It uses more performers so they're able to come up with more good ideas, and its format allows them to pick and choose story lines, adapting quickly based on what's funny and what isn't.
