We loved it! Typical Monty Python humor had the whole audience laughing, and the production numbers were great. Sometimes it was difficult to understand what they were saying/singing, word for word - probably because of the British accents. But overall, it was a fun evening.

Saturday matinée/rear orchestra. Drove up from Orange County and what a pleasure with the freeway access and entry/exit into the Music Center's parking structure. No headaches, no muss, no fuss, and a very easy both in & out. I'll be watching my Goldstar emails more closely for future events at that center.
Seat location was good. With exception of some sound mush here and there the entire experience was a delight. Even the ladies bathroom wait during intermission wasn't terribly excruciating. Hey those things count.
As to the show itself, sets and costumes were delicious. As to the talent it was talented with no complaints or disappointments whatsoever. Python fans will find all their favorite jokes intact and sometimes very nicely expanded. Even the trickier to manage killer rabbit and black knight scenes did not disappoint. In fact that dynamite bunny is still slaying me here as I type these notes.
My only caveat: Some of the bantering taunts from the French guards to the king below just went on and on waaay too long. Also went too far for children fortunate enough to still receive any sort of conscientious parenting these days. Pity too, since the whole witty show would otherwise have a "G" rating with no losses in fun department. For adults the fart/sex taunts simply dragged a tad too long -thus blunting sharpness down to a schoolboy snigger. No big deal merely poorly timed. Unfortunately for children in attendance that same scene charges right up to the line, and then leisurely swaggered across providing considerable repetition. Not necessary at all.
For fans of either Python or musical theater this is a nice slam dunk event chocked full of fun. If you're coming back to Orange County the 101 south ramp return --> is hiding up on Temple Street.

Best show I've seen since Mama Mia on Broadway!! If you liked any of the Monty Python movies or TV shows, you'll love this show...all of the jokes without the redundancy. The only down side is the over use of body function & gay jokes, but then, that was part of the Monty Python humor. “I fart in your general direction.” They cleverly brought to stage all the standard jokes without the liquid blood such as limbs being amputated during a fight with the claim, "It's only a flesh wound;" Black plague victims being colleted with one saying, “I’m not dead yet;” the fish slapping dance, catapulting farm animals, and the “Neeeet” screaming trees of death. Music and dancing was fabulous…just a great way to spend an afternoon.
Word of warning...if you've never been to the Ahmanson, the cheaper seats were built for little people. Glad I purchased the back Orchestra seats this time as last time I went to the Ahmanson theater I was in the cheaper seats and everyone was sitting at an angle as the seats are not large enough for anyone to sit with their shoulders back without squeezing into their neighbor.
