Members Who Went Said:Our family had a great time! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE!!! I took my daughter, and invited my sister and niece to join us... and all of us had a great time. The girls enjoyed themselves so much. The Tour Guide was fabulous- she was very patient, and had great skill in kindly redirecting the children as needed. They learned about different types of art- including sculptures and paintings... and kept pointing out different types of sculptures on the way home. It was a great experience for my sister and I to watch the girls light up- especially because they are both quite shy. I loved both standing back and participating with my daughter- watching her learn. I can't wait to tell all of my friends about this.. its a great way for parents to share some quality time with their kids. I highly recommend this and I'm looking forward to other Quick Culture events!
Chinny Multitasking Mom and Still Having Fun! I took my two boys, ages 9 & 5. The 9 yr old really appreciated and enjoyed it and got quite a lesson on art in that short time (1 hr). My 5 yr old, on the other hand, seemed maybe a couple yrs too young - he was more focused on why he wasn't allowed to touch anything (and made the guards very nervous!). I also learned things I never knew about and thought the tour guide was very friendly and spoke to the children well. She kept them involved and engaged with interaction and made sure they all participated. I would highly recommend to parents of children 8 yrs and older. This was a nice change from our typical little league weekend!
TJ Rai The tour guide was very knowledgeable about art history, and even I learnt things about art. But more importantly, she really knew how to relate to kids and explain things at their level. She made the whole experience interactive by asking the kids lots of questions. Would love to do more museum tours with kids through this service. |

More Details About This Event: This intimate and interactive tour will introduce your children to the elements of art. We personalize our tours by using props. Handling different sizes of paintbrushes, examining a mold used to make sculpture and manipulating a color wheel may be among the many tools we use for each child to get an exciting hands-on experience. The tour is given by Quick Culture Art Guides of Quick Culture: Art Appreciation tours and Cultural Experiences. The tour takes place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). All children must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18. The cost of the Quick Culture Kids Tour is per person whether it is for a child or an adult. This ticket does not include the museum admission fee. Admission to the museum is free for members and kids under 18, $8.00 for seniors and students over 18 and $12.00 for adults. You can pay the admission fee the day of the tour directly from the museum. |
