Very good! Even the adults seemed to learn something and the kids weren't bored for a second.

Dad and kids had a great time. 9 year old son was happy to share pictures and story of the day's experience at LACMA. According to dad, the docent/guide did a great job.

My daughter and I (too) enjoyed this tour very much and we learned a lot from Charlotte, thank you.

I brought the NextGen membership form for my daughter and I got free admission.

Wonderful. Our guide was incredibly well-informed and packed so much into a short period of time (perfect for my 7-year-old's attention span). I loved how she engaged the children with so many different facets of art -- how it is perceived, experienced, conceived, created, even how it is brought into the museum. The children all really enjoyed getting to help out in her demonstrations -- and she made sure every child got a turn. The props were also great --- various paint-brushes the children could hold, molds, photos, etc and went a long way to making the museum experience (which can at times be a little too hands off to fully engage my son) more tactile and participatory. On the flip-side I also really appreciated that she gave the children's clear guidelines on how to behave themselves in the museum. She communicated beautifully on the children's level but did not talk down to them at all. A great experience -- and a wonderful resource!

More Information About Museum Tours for Kids

Description

This intimate and interactive tour will introduce your children to the elements of art. We personalize our tours by using props. Handling different sizes of paintbrushes, examining a mold used to make sculpture and manipulating a color wheel may be among the many tools we use for each child to get an exciting hands-on experience. The tour is given by Quick Culture Art Guides of Quick Culture: Art Appreciation tours and Cultural Experiences.

The tour takes place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). All children must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18.  The cost of the Quick Culture Kids Tour is per person whether it is for a child or an adult.

This ticket does not include the museum admission fee. Admission to the museum is free for members and kids under 18, $10.00 for seniors and students over 18 and $15.00 for adults. You can pay the admission fee the day of the tour directly from the museum.
