Don't quite have the words to express how you feel about your significant other? Let the music do the talking. Musical Valentine: An Evening of Love Songs is a musical revue in two acts, featuring classic and contemporary love songs. The concert-style revue features talented vocalists painting musical portraits of all facets of romance, from falling in love, to finding one's soul mate, to growing old together. Sometimes love hurts, though, and there are songs to express the agony of jealousy, unrequited love, heartbreak and loss.

Do Lord Remember Me Weaves Memories of Slavery Into Moving Play

Full Price:
$25.00
Our Price:
$12.50

The revelatory power of Do Lord Remember Me comes directly from its source: real-life interviews with former slaves. Back in the 1930's, President Roosevelt tasked the Federal Writers Project with recording oral histories of the last generation of Americans born into slavery -- people who, at the time, were already 80 years old or older. More than a half century later, poet and professor James de Jongh transformed these firsthand memories into Do Lord Remember Me, a play that tells the personal side of the so-called "Peculiar Institution." Chromolume Theatre remounts its critically acclaimed production of this intimate account of slavery. Be prepared to be moved and surprised by the humor, courage and unceasing faith of those chronicled in Do Lord Remember Me. Learn More

For a musical performance , it is sad and uncomfortable when only 3 out of 12 soloists could really sing and hit the notes they tried for.

This was not what I expected. The description of the event was over rated. The performers all seemed to be amateurs.

This was equivalent to an average high school recital. About 12 singers were seated on the stage and one by one each stood and sang a song and then returned to their chair. There was no story to tie these songs together and not even an MC to introduce the singers or give us a little background information. The singers were enthusiastic and sincere, but unfortunately not at the level of professional singers.
