Now in its 39th year, A Prairie Home Companion is a beloved throwback to old time radio shows and a time when the whole family would gather around the living room for a weekly visit with their favorite characters. Written and hosted by Garrison Keillor since it began production in 1974, A Prairie Home Companion is heard on over 600 public radio stations across the country. Every week, listeners (and the live studio audience) check in with the residents of the fictional idyllic town of Lake Wobegon. In between comedy skits, the show features folk music acts. A Prairie Home Companion was recently made into a feature film by director Robert Altman. This show will also feature special guests Colin Hay, Paula Poundstone, Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele, Martin Sheen and Lily Tomlin. Learn More

Not worth the money..The event was over in less than three hours...I could have gone some place for free and had a better time. Me and my girls went to the J Spot after this disappointment and had a much better time..

It lookedlike an AA meeting. Chairs were pushed together in a room and people were fanning themselves because of how stuffy it was so we left and went somewhere else. We thought because the place was listed as a comedy club it would actually be one - instead it was very thrown together. Description was misleading.

This place is always friendly and easy to visit. The Battle was very entertaining and the people from staff, camera people and comedians were all quite friendly and happy to have us there.

This event was so much fun! I would definitely buy tickets for this type of event again. Alki David may be a billionaire but he is very friendly. The drinks are cheap and the bartender is extremely nice. Overall it was a great night with the hubby and friends.

Description

Hosted by Alki David and Garrett Morris

June 4, 2011 at 9:00pm: Scheduled comics include Retha Jones, Jason James, Brian Ross, Rick Izquieta, Jon Huck, Tracie Walker, Mike Muratore and Allie Breen. (Some comics will perform online alongside the live show. Lineup is confirmed as of publication, but subject to change without notice.)

Ten comics will compete for cash, prizes and the crown of “BattleCam.com’s Nastiest  Comic." Each comic performs for as long as they can without getting voted off. The longer the comic stays on the more points they receive. If a comic can stay on for 7 minutes, which is a complete set, they receive bonus points. The live and online audiences will vote in real time in classic BattleCam.com fashion “I like it!” or “Poop.”

“This process works for thousands of BattleCam.com broadcasters who compete live via web cam every night on BattleCam. This event is a true convergence of the Internet, television and now live events.” says Alki David, the founder of BattleCam.com. “The comic with the most points is going to win cash and prizes just like on BattleCam.”

On BattleCam.com, any registered user can broadcast live from any web cam to an audience of thousands. Audiences get to vote on whether they keep that person on or not, by selecting “I like it!” or “Poop.” Returning guest appearances include personalities such as Wesley Snipes, Billy Zane, Barry Bonds, Gary Busey and Ron Jeremy to name a few. The best BattleCam.com broadcasters develop cult fan followings and in those circles are deemed legendary for their particular brand of entertainment, whether they are musicians, break dancers or stunt actors. They have the opportunity to earn redeemable rewards points for their efforts from anywhere in the world. Unsuccessful broadcasters are discarded after their “15 seconds” expires.
