The show was good. It wasn't a tremendously moving experience, but ok nevertheless. The dining service started really late, way past 9:45pm, so by the time our entree was served, the show started already, so it was hard to enjoy both the food and the show at the same time, since you couldn't give your full attention to either.

Be careful though at the end you really check your bill... they charged me full ticket price: $80 per person. I told them I pre-paid with Goldstar, so they removed it. BUT, they still charged me food tax off of the full ticket price, plus 18% gratuity off of the full ticketed price. So we ended up spending another $53 dollars comprised of a glass of orange juice, ice tea, food tax, and gratuity. I decided not to protest, because the server was good, and, what the heck, it was for new years.

But I don't think I'd return to El Cid again.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the food and service was fabulous and the dancing was passionate. Everything I wanted for a spectacular romantic start to the New Year.

I went to the early seating (7pm dinner, 8pm show) and the show and dinner were both on time. The show was so-so, not great. The place is small enough to have a good seating no matter where you sit. The service was good, and the hostess was nice enough to ask us if we cared to sit closer to the stage or away from it. There was plenty of food (5-course meal: soup, salad, 2 main dishes and dessert) and it was well prepared. I chose to have the pork and I was pleasantly surprised: soft, moist and tasty. Very good deal for the discounted price. I did not like that they added 18% to the total of the full-priced bill. We got our own champagne and the corkage fee was $15. So, we ended up paying $37 for the corkage and tip.

This was the perfect place to spend New Years Eve. The building is full of character, the service was good and the five course meal served as part of the New Years Eve dinner was really good!

My husband and I took our teenage daughters (18 and 15) and we all enjoyed a truly memorable event. The venue was cozy, the food was great and just the right amount and of course the show was good too. We had been to Spain years ago and were fortunate to see a flamenco show in what I remember was more like a basement but El Cid's restaurant had a nicer ambiance and decor. Both shows (in Spain and in Los Angeles) were fabulous.

The New Year's Eve Flamenco Show and Dinner at El Cid was a great value. You can't find a 5 course dinner and a show for $35 ($40 w/Goldstar fee) on NYE anywhere else! Goldstar offers the same event during a non-holiday week for only $21!

I live close by and regularly go to El Cid for it's burlesque shows, but I had yet to see Flamenco show. The show was definitely worth the wait. We were sat close to the stage and had a good view of the show. The dancers were mesmerizing and they added to the ambiance of the evening which was really low key.

Dinner was 5 courses, starting with ginger carrot soup and then a choice of a mixed green or endive salad... for the tapas I choose the pan roasted shrimp with garlic and red pepper butter (one of my personal favorites there), for the main course I had the Pork Tenderloin, and for desert the chocolate mousse. Dinner was very satisfying and it included a glass of champagne for an early New Year's Eve toast.

Alcohol is not included with the deal but I would suggest you try their red sangria which is excellent and only $30/carafe!

Everything is paid for when you get there but they automatically charge you a gratuity for the dinner. I can't remember what it was but it was somewhere in the 18%-20% range which was very reasonable considering the package price through Goldstar is significantly lower than the walk-up rate.

If you didn't make it this time you need to check it out! It's a perfect place to take a date. I had an amazing evening and my girlfriend loved it!

The place is quite old and starting to show its age. Same goes for the performers. The server was very friendly. Then he attempted to charge us again even though we had prepaid through Goldstar.

Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, good service, and a fun show. Everyone in my party had a great time. It was also very affordable. Well, the menu, the show, and the valet parking were all cheap; the bar tab seemed rather high, and we didn't drink THAT much. But I would return in a heartbeat.

A great way to spend a fun, stress-free evening. The food was good, the entertainment was delightful and the place was full of happy revelers, none of them obnoxiously drunk. We had a great evening!
