FABULOUS! The cast is amazing, I could hear every word they sang. EVERYONE in the show performed brilliantly. I didn't know what to expect and I was "WOW"ed. Very creative set and staging. Highly recommended.

Very talented performances! The staging and placement of the musicians was really interesting. The movement on the stage kept your attention and added an interesting flow to the performances. But, what really stood out was talent of these...continued

This is a different musical, especially because of the subject matter. Yet, it deals with it in a great way, including a lot of humor. I loved the music, the acting, and the beautiful and smart set.

The cast was amazing, and the musical itself is very well written. The songs are great - left singing several of them. I'm not sure why some reviewers complained about the lead actress's voice - she was great the night I was there. Our seats in...continued

Intense and beautiful story. All six of the actors, and the band rocked. Loved their use of the set and lights. I saw a scene from Next to Normal on the 2009 Tony Awards show and I was hooked! I immediately purchased the soundtrack and have...continued

I really wanted to like this. The show is compelling, the music is wonderful, the staging is great and the cast is obviously talented. BUT...they spent half the night screeching at each other. We were literally cringing during some of the songs,...continued

The entire cast in phenomenal - the music is superb and Alice Ripley is awe-inspiring - a complete tour-de-force! GO! (Then go home and watch a sitcom or some stand-up)...

This was a remarkable theatre experience. Every aspect of the play was exceptional, while delivering a powerful, well-rounded message about mental illness and its effect on a family. Highly recommended!

This is without a doubt one of the finest of contemporary musicals. I'm not usually a fan of musicals with pop/rock-oriented scores, but this one is in complete service to the plot and it's compelling. The performances of all six in the cast are...continued

TERRIFIC! The perfect antidote for holiday anxiety in a strange way. How much better to experience a family's historic dysfunction ON STAGE than around the dinner table. But seriously, I found it moving, profound, and instructive. WHAT A CAST!

As other reviews have noted, this is an intense play; don't let the term "musical" lull you into a false hope of a light-hearted romp. Well staged, well acted, disturbing, and thoughtful.

I didn't necessarily care for Alice Ripley's voice, but the rest of the show was really great. Emma Hutton is fabulous, and the rest of the cast is really tight. It is just the right amount of dark and twisty! The seats were good, andthe view great.

This show was very entertaining and powerful. The story, sets, and lighting were terrific... very creative and inventive.

The musicians were excellent but sometimes the vocals were covered up by electric instruments. It's very frustrating to...continued

This is an extraordinary and important piece of theater - truly astonishing. Not for the faint of heart - I started crying in the middle of the 2nd act and didn't stop until I got home. It has haunted me for days and I can't wait to see it again!

Went with a group of four to this show! Every one of us agreed, it's one of the best things we've seen in years! Thank goodness we had read about the content of the show before hand so we were prepared for the heavy subject matter. But, there was...continued

Perhaps it was the combination of the expectation level that was created in me by this show's pedigree (Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award etc.), AND seeing it on New Year's Eve, that is a night for celebration, anticipation and hope, however, "Next to...continued
