One of the most sacred taboos in theater is broken when mime and spoken word unite in Human Identity, a solo show from Christopher Vened. A star of Henryk Tomaszewski's world-famous Wroclaw Pantomime Theater, Vened was the toast of the Eastern European theater scene until he daringly defected while on tour in the West. In the decades since, he's become an influential force in the worlds of performance and training, writing a key textbook and teaching at UCLA. Funny, inventive and eye-opening, his latest piece of "monodrama theatre" is nothing less than a quest to figure out the meaning of human identity. Learn More

This is not Theresa Rebeck's best work. SMASH is terrific and I recently saw her outstanding play on Broadway starring Alan Rickman. OUR HOUSE is just OK. It did not help that the evening we attended was "understudy night" and the performance seemed under-rehearsed. In addition, about a half dozen "supporters" of the actors hooted and hollered throughout the evening, laughing even during lines that were not only not funny but tragic. We were wondering why they were not asked to pipe down as they annoyed the other audience members. If you are tracking Theresa Rebeck's career, go but prepare for some disappointment.
This show's running time is two hours, with an intermission.
This show utilizes some simulated gunfire.
