Description
Lollapaloser Productions present a world premiere play, Out Of Tune, written by Michael Loprete and directed by Phil LaMarr (Tales of a Bleaknik).
OUT OF TUNE follows the lives of three men in their 30s struggling to preserve the last remnant of their friendship and youth: their cover band. Facing mounting frustrations in love and life, long-time friends Dan, John and Kevin are crashing into each other as they desperately fight to avoid the realities of their lives in middle-age. OUT OF TUNE is a funny and affecting take on male mid-life angst and really bad cover songs.
Director PHIL LAMARR is an alumnus of The Groundlings and was one of the original cast members of Fox's "Mad TV." Phil was recently profiled in TV Guide for his voice-over work on "Samurai Jack," "Futurama" and many more. Phil's film performances include "Pulp Fiction," "Speaking of Sex" and "Spider-Man 2". Mr. LaMarr also previously directed Tales of A Bleaknik , and Attack of The White Negro.
Writer MICHAEL LOPRETE performed and wrote with the Groundlings main company from '97 to '03, and he is excited to be back at the theatre with this show. He was a regular on MTV's "The Jenny McCarthy Show," and other TV / film credits include "Significant Others," "Mad TV," "Conan O'Brien," "The Wayans Brothers," "Pacific Blue," "Bubble Boy," and "Dancing at the Blue Iguana". He's written in television for "Son of the Beach," "She Spies," "MAD TV," "Ripe Tomatoes," and pilots for UPN and Spike TV.
Producer JOHN D. MARTIN is a graduate of the Honors Program in Creative Writing at Northwestern University. For the last 12 years John worked at HBO Independent Productions and worked on such shows as "Roc," "Martin," "The Ben Stiller Show," "House of Buggin'" (with John Leguizamo), "Down The Shore" and most recently "Everybody Loves Raymond". For two years he helped run the HBO-Warner Bros. TV Workspace. He serves on the Advisory Board for the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival.
The cast of OUT OF TUNE features: Timothy Brennan, Loretta Fox, Stirling Greg Gardner, Nicole Ghastin, Paige King, Cheselka Leigh, Michael Loprete, Michael Naughton, Megahn Perry, Kristen Shaw, Matt Winston.
