July 9, 2011 at 4:30pm: *"_The Advocate for Fagdom*_":

Documentary Features (France, 2011, 92 mins)

In English

Directed by: Angelique Bosio

Bruce LaBruce has been called bold, revolutionary, controversial, irritating, and pornographic. Whatever your take on his films, no one can deny that he’s one of the only filmmakers consistently bucking the system and pushing boundaries. In this intimate and revealing documentary, rare interviews — including candid insight from John Waters, Gus Van Sant, other contemporaries and LaBruce himself describing his artistic process — combine with archival footage to piece together an authentic portrait of this elusive artist.

Sponsored By: Los Angeles Film and TV Office, French Embassy

This film contains explicit sex scenes.

July 16, 2011 at 9:45pm: *"_The 13th Annual Home Video Gong Show*_":

Special Events

(90 mins)

And we’re back! The show that brought you such unforgettable clips as “Dixie Carter’s Unworkout,” “Jill” and the cringe-inducing, instant-classic “Meat-Ass” returns for another night of outrageous video moments from you, our audience. Bring a cued DVD or the URL of your funniest, most shocking or straight-up weirdest clip (under three minutes, please!) to compete in one of two categories: Personal Genius (meaning you made it yourself!) or Party Video Archivist (meaning it’s in your collection and it must be shared!). Whatever makes the audience giggle, gasp or gag the most is showered with praise and prizes. Everything else gets gonged without mercy. Standing in boozy judgment will be host Dennis Hensley and celebrity judges. Viewer discretion is not only advised but pushed to the limit.

You’re invited to the pre-screening reception in the REDCAT lobby.
