Description
Paddy Chayefsky's comedy, The Tenth Man. This rarely-performed play is one of Chayefsky's most imaginative works, and is directed by multi-Emmy-Award-winning director Gene Reynolds (M*A*S*H, Lou Grant). Set on Long Island, The Tenth Man humorously and touchingly tells the story of an effort by a group of elderly Orthodox Jews to save a girl whose body maybe possessed of a demon, or "dybbuk." The result is a hilarious exorcism performed by the prayer group to send the dybbuk on her way and bring the poor young woman back to her senses.
