Twenty years ago, Deano Goretti left a life of crime to start over in a quiet Maine town with a new wife and a new son. But when his buried past comes knocking on his door, the two worlds collide with a vengeance. Zanna, Don't! -- A Fairy Tale About Love in a Modern, Inclusive World

Full Price:
$30.00
Our Price:
FREE - $15.00

The Spotlight Theatre brings Zanna, Don't! to Theatre Theater in Los Angeles. This hip musical fairy tale tells the story of Zanna, a modern matchmaking teen who turns relationships upside-down and changes the world. In this alternate version of America, homosexuality is the norm rather than the exception. Boys fall madly in love with dreamy boys; girls excitedly plan dates with other girls. Scandal erupts, however, when young Steve and Kate find themselves attracted to one another, and it's up to Zanna, the local love fairy, to come up with the right spell to make the world safe for the two lovers. But Zanna's spell has a bigger-than-anticipated impact. Is this really what he wanted? With a little magic and a fresh pop score, Zanna, Don't! celebrates finding love in a world of diversity and acceptance. This off-Broadway hit won several Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle nominations and awards and was voted Favorite Off-Broadway Musical in the Broadway.com Audience Awards. Zanna, Don't! also won the Media Award for Outstanding New York Theatre Production from GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) for its "fair, accurate and inclusive representations" of the gay community and issues that effect their lives. Outstanding cast and powerful delivery. I really enjoyed the development of all the characters - the playwright did a great job packing in tremendous little details to make each one of them as multi-faceted as possible.

they said "fuck" A LOT....which doesn't bother me that much, but it might some other people. They should put a warning like "strong language" about that so people could make an educated decision about attending.

I'd read a review on here where someone said something like if you're into Pulp Fiction or the Supranos then you'll love this... Dead on!!!! This play winds around in clever and pleasing directions that enhance the journey it takes you on. The set design was incredible and works perfectly, making you feel like you are (pardon the cliché) really part of the action. Funny, dark, and a really good time. GO SEE IT!!!

Lively, well paced comedy with quite a bit of mayhem.

If you have a Sopranos, Pulp Fiction bent, you will really like this play.

There were some calm, thoughtful moments, but that's not what this is about.
