An all-star lineup -- including David Byrne, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem), Kele Okereke (Bloc Party), Money Mark, Joshua Redman, Sinkane and the legendary Lijadu Sisters of Nigeria in their first live performance in 30 years -- takes the stage at the Greek to perform the futuristic, synth-heavy electronic music of elusive Nigerian artist William Onyeabor. The evening begins with a DJ set by special guest Wooden Wisdom (Elijah Wood & Zach Cowie). Onyeabor self-released eight nearly impossible-to-find albums between 1978 and 1985 in Nigeria, but after becoming a born-again Christian turned his back on his work and refused to speak about it for nearly three decades. Last year, after a five-year odyssey to track down Onyeabor and secure his permission to release his music, the Luaka Bop label issued World Psychedelic Classics 5: Who Is William Onyeabor? The album was named one of Time magazine's top ten albums of the year and Pitchfork's Best Reissue of the Year 2013. Even now, after the album's enormous success, the artist's life story remains a mystery -- and he seems content to keep it that way. Learn More

The night began great, we found street parking less than a block from the event. We walked up to the door and our name was on the will call list. They also had tickets to another event the end of the month @ House of Blues. Getting a drink was fast as they hardly had anyone buying drinks (one good thing of this being 18 over). The downstairs area to sit was all taken so we headed upstairs, we actually ended up being happier upstairs as we had great views and the bathrooms upstairs did not have long lines. The first to bands to perform were ok, but the last band was awesome, the singer knew how to get the crowd started. People were up and dancing, unfortunately the security that was working there was not trying to allow them to dance. Security was way to aggressive with some of the people dancing in the pit. When the show ended one short little guy socked one of the security guards in the nose with a bottle, at that point chaos erupted. A lot of the guys that had been kicked out must have been outside waiting for there friends and so they started throwing beer bottles @ the doors. Security was still trying to have people leave thru those doors, freaking IDIOTS, talk about throwing us into the lions den. These guys were pissed @ security not at other concert goers. Finally they let everyone leave thru a side door and I heard they had called the cops. Sucks that a good concert was ruined by overly aggressive security guards.
