Fun time! The venue was very well organized! Fastest long bathroom line ever! Even the stacked parking seemed easy. The show was well attended for these groups and they rocked it! Great connection with the audience. The Greek is so much smaller than the Bowl which makes it more intimate with better views of the bands. It got cool near the end, but was a wonderful time!

My second time at the Greek. Lovely venue but darn the nites cooling off so much--both times I was cold. Rick Springfield still gorgeous, lots of energy and came way out into the audience several times. REO Speedwagon great show--they still rock!!!!

Rick Springfield really rocked! REO was great! My first time at the Greek and wasn't as impressed as I thought I might be. Definitely prefer the Bowl!

Quotes & Highlights

Description

REO Speedwagon will perform plus very special guest Rick Springfield and Art Alexakis as part of The Greek Theatre, LA's 80th Anniversary season.

With a RIAA certified 22 million albums sold in the U.S. and 40 million around the globe, a string of gold and platinum records and international hit singles, REO Speedwagon continues to emerse audiences with their favorite hits and energetic live shows as they tour the country, year after year.  This year, the band celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the 9-times certified Hi Infidelity, the band's hit album, which was the #1 selling rock album of 1981 and remains a high-water mark for rock bands that have followed.  With hits such as "Take it on the Run," "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Keep On Lovin' You," "Ridin' The Storm Out," "Roll With The Changes" and many more, the band has gone onstage and in the studio and done the work, year after year – dozens of albums, countless live performances, infinite radio spins.

Cronin (lead vocals, guitar) has always cast an eye to the future, along with band-mates Bruce Hall (bass), Neal Doughty (keyboards), Dave Amato (lead guitar) and Bryan Hitt (drums).  Today it's all about what it has always been – taking good care of the band's legacy while keeping the focus on the future. That may be even more important these days, Cronin believes.

With over 19 million records sold and 17 top-40 hits, there is no sign of Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Rick Springfield slowing down.  He has performed for millions of devoted fans over the last three decades and continues to play over 100 shows a year. Attracting new fans wherever he goes with his unique brand of audience interaction, unstoppable energy, and unforgettable songs that have become part of the soundtrack to people's lives.  With hit songs such as "Jessie's Girl," "Human Touch," "Affair of the Heart," and "Hard to Hold," among others, Springfield has solidified his place as a preeminent power-pop artist and today remains the genre's greatest pioneer.

In 2010, Springfield released his memoir, Late, Late at Night through Touchstone (Simon & Schuster), which hit the New York Times hardcover bestseller list at #13 as well as #14 on the Publisher's Weekly bestseller list and #10 on the LA Times Hardcover Nonfiction Bestseller's List.  Additionally, Springfield released his most popular and acclaimed album in two decades, Venus in Overdrive, in 2008.  Written by Springfield with well-known bassist Matt Bissonette, Venus In Overdrive has been called "the son of Working Class Dog" and entered The Billboard 200 chart at #28, the best debut of Springfield's career.
