This was a wonderful salsa class, and is a great alternative to the gym. After 4 power hours of dancing, they offer you a delicious meal.

Great class. There was an even number of men and women, so when it was time to dance in pairs there was always a partner for every woman. The only trouble was my feet!! A lot of dancing in heels, whew! Gotta have COMFORTABLE shoes. =)

It was such a fun event!!!! I would do it again and again!!! So much fun... they were super nice... and I learned so much! I wish they had more beginner classes on the weekends... for the boot camp. I live in Orange County... and wouldn't hesitate to drive the hour to go back! It was great!

I recommend taking this class if you want to learn some basics. The teacher was good and took her time to work with each participant. The only draw back is that there weren't enough men to balance out the group.

I really liked it but I have two comments. First, I think people need to be told to bring a snack because 4 hours of dancing in a hot stuffy studio full of people and then waiting until after 3 to eat the food makes you cranky :) OTher than that .. it was really fun :)

This event was rated outstanding! I have plans to participate in more classes with the SalsaBox because the instructors were excellent in demonstrating the steps. I actually felt comfortable and relaxed because of the support given by everyone in the class. Four hours passed quickly. Great exercise! The dance studio was located near the freeway, with easy access. After the class, we had a great meal. I was pleasantly surprised. I vote for the SalsaBox as a great choice to learn Salsa dancing.

I gave this to my girlfriend as a gift. She enjoyed it. We both had a great time and would go again. You may think four hours seems like a long time but time really flies when you are in the class. I would really recommend this to anybody looking for something new and fun to do.

I TOOK MY MOM FOR HER BIRTHDAY BECAUSE SHE HAS ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO SALSA. WE REALLY ENJOYED OURSELVES!!! IT WAS A GREAT WORKOUT... LISA IS A GREAT AND PATIENT INSTRUCTOR. I TOLD ALL OF MY CO-WORKERS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY ABOUT THE "BOOT CAMP", SO I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET A GROUP TOGETHER TO GO ONCE A MONTH.... ITS WELL WORTH IT!!!

It was a lot of fun! The room was a bit hot without air conditioning though. I'd want to learn more :)

Honestly, I do not recommend this event to any members. I was so disappointed and found it to be overpriced for what I got. The studio is really small with only a few mirrors. The teacher never introduced herself, introduced the class or properly started it. With 16-17 people in the class, you should really have atleast two teachers, especially with a beginner class as most of the men had never even danced before. Therefore, the teacher was going back and forth between the men and women. Then when we partnered up, there were twice as many women, and the teacher had to play the man to about 4 different women.
As a result, my boyfriend and I were left to ourselves for most of the time and had a hard time progressing since we did not have the teachers attention as she was all over the room with the non- coupled up women.
I think the teacher was a little frazzled because there was some unforseen construction happening all around the building, but that too was distracting.
I have been to many good Salsa dance classes and unfortunately do not recommend this particular one. I highly recommend that the teacher bring in an assistant instructor, especially in a class where you are teaching couple dancing.

The experience is highly variable depending on the level and talent of the rest of the class (opposite gender) attending. If you're quick learner and expect a lot of things out of class, you may be a little disappointed at frequently having to switch to a "non-performing" partner. You'll learn about 3-4 moves/combos during the whole class. In order to enjoy a real salsa night at the club, you'll need at least another class of the same length. If there is more than 12 people attending, the room gets really crowded and it'll be hard to see the instructor's move. The fan can also be too noisy and music not heard well.

I wish I had attended sooner, and I will return again for more salsa bootcamp. I highly recommend it for both beginners and advanced dancers. It was lots of fun, serious moves, and good instructors. Also I got pointers on where to go to try out the new steps!

I loved this multi-hour workshop. It is suitable for absolute beginners, advanced beginners, or those who've done the salsa before but need a refresher course to get back in the groove. I don't have the time to take a one-hour class that is taken over several weeks (especially when one considers the back and forth driving time) so this is a highly efficient way to receive solid instruction. I also tend to remember a lot more of the steps when I have the chance to dance for several hours in one session. Lisa was an excellent instructor. She was patient and paced the class well. She incorporates various steps into a routine so you will be able to dance at salsa clubs after just attending this one workshop. Go try it out!!!

Five people one instructor, I could not have asked for more :) She was personable, fun and good at coaching. I never felt akward or like she was judging my skill level which was super novice! Please note, the instructor mentioned classes are smaller in fall verses the summer so take note if you want more one on one time! Watch out dance floor here I come!

Lisa is a wonderful instructor - humorous and patient. She was able to break down the steps in a way that we all could understand and get it. The studio is not pretentious but very inviting and it's evident that they want to share the love of salsa with newcomers! I would definitely take another class and attend one of their functions. thank you Lisa!

It was very good and we had a good time. The instructor was very good. The location is sketchy but there is parking behind the studio.

The salsa box was everything I was looking for in a salsa class! The small class size allows you to get one on one time with the instructor and not to mention the price was just right. The instructor was very knowledgeable and patient. All that dancing builds up an appettie but no worries because at the close of class you can indulge yourself to delicious authentic mexican buffet!

More Details
The four-hour Salsa Boot Camp is an immersion class, perfect for busy people who have always wanted to learn some moves for the salsa clubs.
There are two beginner levels with two separate instructors:
Novice Beginners will learn all the basics of salsa and use them in fun and simple combinations. For the student who has never danced before, you will learn the basics of salsa: the basic step, right and left turns, the cross--body lead, cumbia step. The basics will then be applied to easy combinations that can be taken straight to the dance floor.
Advanced Beginners will build on what they already know and learn slightly more advanced routines to take to the dance floor. If you have your basics down and want to improve your technique as well as add more advanced fundamental movement, this class is also for you. There will be a review of the basics, and then you'll continue on to more advanced beginning combinations. Routines will vary.
A lunch buffet featuring Latin cuisine will be served after the camp.
