The opening piece with the horns was great. Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 was a stunner because its rare to see every single instrument being played simultaneously. Thank you goldstar for an affordable evening of culture! The seat locations were fantastic - first balcony, front and center.

Several firsts for me and my wife with this concert. Although we've been to Disney hall several times, this is the first time we've gone to hear an orchestra. What astounding acoustics!

First time seeing Tilson Thomas and although I know it by heart, first time seeing the Tchaikovsky 5th Symphony live. Thomas is an amazing showman, and did a great job bringing alive what must be an old warhorse to him (he conducted the Tchaikovsky without a score.) My wife doesn't know classical music much, and was completely wowed by the Tchaikovsky.

The Prokofiev is a real oddity. Loved three movements, hated the other two. It's clearly a technical nightmare for the pianist, who played with technical ease and passion.

Thomas' own brass piece in three continuous parts was pleasant, featuring one gorgeous melody in the second part.

Our seats were first rate. We would be delighted if more L.A. Phil tickets became available through Goldstar.
