One Night With Janis Joplin: 4th of July Fireworks & BBQ
- Full Price:
- $108.00
- Our Price:
- $99.00
One Night With Janis Joplin adds some actual Fourth of July fireworks to the musical ones produced on stage, with a post-show barbeque buffet on the Arena Stage terrace -- a prime viewing spot for the famed pyrotechnics launched on the National Mall. First up is the show, a part-concert, part-theatrical event that captures Janis Joplin's life and legacy in all its live intensity. Mary Bridget Davies stars as the rock legend in a performance that has audiences dancing in the aisles and critics raving. Featuring powerful musical numbers including "Piece of My Heart, "Summertime" and "Mercedes Benz," as well as one song Joplin never formally recorded, One Night boasts a full band and a cast including Sabrina Elayne Carten, who plays Bessie Smith, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. After the performance, you'll move outside the theater for food and drinks, along with the fireworks viewing. Please see the full event description for the buffet menu. Learn More

view more less of this reviewI'm so thankful that I got the tickets from Goldstar, otherwise I would be really pissed off. 2 of my gfs who were with me were complaining the whole time on how we were wasting our time being there.
This event is like shopping at a swap meet except for it was in a nice museum full of expensive cars.
The goody bag only had Revlon fake eyelashes, $3 eye makeup, nail file, and a mini nail polish -- so pathetic!
There were 3 free drink selection at the bars but you would have to ask around where the free drinks are at because it was so hidden from the public, what you would first spot was the price list of the drinks!!!
There were no foods or appetizers offered.
They could not even provide enough mirrors in their inferior dressing room (if you can call it that). It was poorly set-up, very cheaply done and just a total turn-off.
There's nothing sassy nor fashionable about this event.
And the "VIP shopping experience" is such an overstatement, it's the most crappy shopping experience you'll have.Stay away!
star this review starred report as inappropriateI've been to several Sassy City Chicks sales in the past and have found some gems, but this event did not stack up. The garments appeared to be low quality and the prices did not reflect this. When you factor in ticket prices and cost of parking, plus the VIP gift bags were pure junk, it was disappointing to everyone in my group. For future events, it would also be helpful to improve size signage and traffic flow in each section. More mirrors should be made available at the end of aisles since most people try on the clothes in the section vs. the dressing rooms.
star this review starred report as inappropriateI was very disappointed! It felt like an over priced swap meet. Most of the clothes looked cheap. The gift bags barely had anything in them. I have been to another shopping event through Goldstar that I loved. Would not go again.
star this review starred report as inappropriateAnother failed attempt to duplicate the Shecky's experience. While the venue was pretty cool, getting there was not! The parking situation was poorly executed. The fact that there was a line to check in was ridiculous. The "open bar" was dismal -- having to pay for water?!? I am glad I got my ticket for only $5 through Goldstar because if I had paid any more for a "VIP" ticket and only had 3 drink options (all of which were way too sweet and were especially distasteful when they ran out of ice) and was given a "goodie bag" with only 5 unimpressive items, I would've demanded a full refund. I would not attend this event again.
