This event is not for the timid. I enjoyed myself but was expecting more. My drink was a bit watered down for ten bucks. A lot of the drinks were a bit pricey. But overall it was a good experience.
This event was a lot of fun. The best thing to do is to come early enough to mingle with the other guests. They asked us to be there by 7:30 pm and we got there about 7:10 pm and we were glad that we did, as the whole point is to try to figure out who the killer is, and it could be ANYONE that you come in contact with. If you are a fan of the board games Clue, Whodunit', or Guess Who, you will love this event. If you do not like to participate, and would rather just be entertained, then this event is most likely not for you.
We laughed all night long. The acting was over the top silly and you immediately knew who the characters were from their larger than life character. I must admit there were even a couple of very colorful civilians we thought were in the play, but found out they were just run-of-the-mill Angelenos! The food was delicious and plentiful. Drinks were tasty and had enough liquor that you didn't feel cheated. If you've never had their sangria, you can't pass on ordering a carafe if you want the full El Cid experience. Fun evening overall!

El Cid was built in 1900 by D.W. Griffith and is modeled after a 16th century Spanish tavern. It was used to screen his controversial and famous movie "Birth of a Nation." El Cid serves some of the finest Spanish food (included tapas) in Los Angeles. There is a beautiful stage, wooden dance floor and beautiful red booths.
