Zanna, Don't! -- A Fairy Tale About Love in a Modern, Inclusive World

Full Price:
$30.00
Our Price:
FREE - $15.00

The Spotlight Theatre brings Zanna, Don't! to Theatre Theater in Los Angeles. This hip musical fairy tale tells the story of Zanna, a modern matchmaking teen who turns relationships upside-down and changes the world. In this alternate version of America, homosexuality is the norm rather than the exception. Boys fall madly in love with dreamy boys; girls excitedly plan dates with other girls. Scandal erupts, however, when young Steve and Kate find themselves attracted to one another, and it's up to Zanna, the local love fairy, to come up with the right spell to make the world safe for the two lovers. But Zanna's spell has a bigger-than-anticipated impact. Is this really what he wanted? With a little magic and a fresh pop score, Zanna, Don't! celebrates finding love in a world of diversity and acceptance. This off-Broadway hit won several Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle nominations and awards and was voted Favorite Off-Broadway Musical in the Broadway.com Audience Awards. Zanna, Don't! also won the Media Award for Outstanding New York Theatre Production from GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) for its "fair, accurate and inclusive representations" of the gay community and issues that effect their lives. It is a great play, I am so glay that I have read the member reviews and went to see the play. I went with a female frined, we both love it, the acting from the 2 lead are truely professional. since it is in a small venue, there are no bad seats in the house, we elected to set in the first row, and we enjoyed to see the first class acting up close.
I am recommend this play.
Thank you Goldstar.

Very good play. And a very talented cast. Gay or straight, you will become involved in this production. It's only 90 minutes or so long, but the time flies by. I encourage you to attend.

This play was great!!! It was very tightly done, in only 90 minutes, but what a 90 minutes!!! The story was done in flashbacks, alternating with present time. The 2 lead actresses were very well cast, I didn't find a flaw in their performances. Supporting actors were also top notch. The amount of costume changes done by all the actors was astounding, I don't know how they managed so smoothly. This is a definite recommend!!!
