Sunday night sessions are always the best. The night i visited "the Sunday"
Loren Micheal's was escorted to his seat just as the lights dropped.
I am certain the cast knew the boss was in the crowd shopping for his fall cast.
I think he saw some amazing talent. Or at least I did.
You can attend any night of the Groundlings.. but the Sunday session
is my favorite.
As act two started - Micheal's stayed threw the second sketch - then flew off to some of the Sunday comedy clubs gigs in LA to continue this quest for a revamped 09 SNL fall cast.
If he cast any of the actors i saw Sunday night.. It would be an amazing new group of funny over the top talent for SNL 09/10
go see Sunday sessions at the Groundlings -- then walk to PINKS
for the Rosie O'Donnell dog - Yumm

This was a sketch show, not improv. Only two of the sketches made me belly-laugh. The balance of the sketches were clever concepts that lacked good closure. However, if you like SNL's work, this will be a fun time. The talent is evident, the risks are minimal, and the assumptions that the actors ask the audience to make are little. All in all, the troupe was engaging with some highlights of genius.

Gosh dang was this Sunday show awesome. The best Groundlings Sunday show I have been to yet. The actors were super professional. I didn't see them crack a smile or laugh one bit during their hilarious bits. I loved it. SNL writers should take some tips from this ensemble. They are doing it right

We decided on something different for a change and this is exactly what we needed. We had a great time! Two hours of great comedy! Highly recommended! We will be back for more!
It was an entertaining way to spend a Sunday evening but not nearly as laugh out loud, hysterical as I was expecting

One of the best shows I seen so far! What a brilliant cast!

I have been to a few of Enter The Sunday shows and they're truly amazing! I laugh so hard that my face hurts! The improvs are incredible! Everyone of them is so talented! I must say, however, that Jillian Bell really shines in every one of her skits. Alex and Taran are also incredible and talented actors as well! Definitely see this show...you won't regret it! Well, you may regret it because your face is going to hurt from laughing when you leave!

It was funny--parts of it. Definitely could have done with the obscenity in some of the skits. You can be funny without having a trashy mouth. However, Eileen O'Connoll (?) killed us with her characters, as did Sarah Baker and Dana Powell. If you want to see funny women, this is the show. the men weren't that funny.

3, but not 4 stars. I thought it was good, worth a night out and I definitely had some good laughs. Not every skit hit the mark, but that's to be expected. I did expect more improv though, it was more like watching SNL in person.

The show was ok. Couple chuckles here and there. Some skits were memorable. You're ok if you miss it

I loved it. It was very funny. The actors work very hard and you can SEE that in their performances. I will be telling as many people as I can get to listen to me, to go and see Voyage to the Bottom or the Sunday. It is definitely worth the time and money. Anyone who enjoys comedy and live performances should see this show. Without hesitation it was purely hilarious and fun.

Very funny. I love the quaintness of the theater. Also great chocolate chip cookies at intermission.

I laughed, even screamed at some parts, for 2 hours straight! I highly recommend this show. The level of talented comedians is definitely much higher than in any other theatre, sketch, stand-up I have ever seen.

Laughed my self silly... really a great cast! I've already recommended this show to a few friends.

The Groundlings are always a fun time.

It was ok, not too funny.

I thought it was a very solid show. It was mostly sketches, with one or two improv bits thrown in. As with all sketch comedy, some sketches were better than others, but even the mediocre ones had their moments, and the best ones had people howling. The tone ranged from completely absurdist to realist, with a lot in between.

A fantastic show with an unbelievably talented and funny cast. The perfect way to forget that it's Sunday night and you've got work tomorrow night.

I really did love this. Take a sweater though the theatre is freezing!!!!!!

I read some other reviews and figured, I'm up for a few laughs. BOY WAS I WRONG. This was by far the most pathetic excuse for comedy I've ever seen. The acting was fine in parts, but the writing was atrocious. This was the most amateurish crap you can imagine. I left at intermission and was very close to asking for my money back. Whoever is responsible for the writing of these skits needs to be looking for a new job. I can honestly say, my 8 year old Niece has more talent.

Just not my dish of fish--the rest of the audience seemed to love it. I was mistakenly thinking it was going to be improv, but it was sketch comedy--crude humor based rather than more character based, so it wasn't for me. A few sketches were okay--one about a seance, and one with two tough girls in an acting class....

For the price (less than a movie ticket through Goldstar) you simply cannot beat this for entertainment! A really wonderful time! But be warned -- if you sit in the front, you are fair game! My husband was pulled up on stage and forced to sing "I'm a Man!" in front of everyone! Hilarious!!! And Caffe Angeli across the street was *lovely* as a pre-show meal! Fresh beet and ricotta gnocchi! Mmmmmmm!

So Hilarious!!! Great talent...a must see.

I've been to several shows at the Groundlings Theatre, which have always been entertaining. This show was fabulous, with some wonderful talent in this group. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. The house band is also incredible. A real must!

So freakin' funny, I had tears streaming down my face by the end of the show. This particular group of Groundlings has GOT it--they work great together--they're all funny-the sketches are intelligent and wacky and fun--I loved this show!

This is a good fun night out. It's a small friendly little stage and a fun atmosphere; lots of young TV wannabees in attendance. It's mostly self-written sketches from the Groundlings school with the odd bit of improv. As such, some sketches are brilliant; some are a great idea just not pulled off; others fall a little flat. But that's what the show is all about - testing out ideas on and characters in front of a paying audience. Recommended.

The theatre was nice and cool on a hot, end-of-the-summer night. Good amount of seating, even with a large audience. The cast is very talented and funny, we laughed for two hours straight! The band is great, played a wide range of music. Scenes moved along flawlessly, and the improvs were funny also. Great cast, crew, and staff! My date and I had a great time, will definitely go back again, and tell our friends too!

OMG totally worth it. I laughed so hard during one of the sketches I had to wipe the tears with my sleeves. There were a couple sketches that were only moderately funny, but most were hilarious. My date had a good time, too.

Witty sketches, had a great time!

I loved Enter the Sunday! All of the actors were immensely talented. Usually in sketch shows, there are only a few standouts, but in Enter the Sunday, more than half of them were extremely funny! My favorite sketch was the one with the Brownies. Pure hilarity! The show starts at 7:30 PM and we didn't get out until 10:00 PM! What a great bargain for $7.50 plus service fees. Bonus: Lorne Michaels was there last night scoping out the talent. It was totally cool to hear THE Lorne Michaels cracking up right behind me!

i laughed the entire time....and im still chuckling to myself the next day.
definitely worth checking out!

hilarious sketch and improve show!

A fantastic night of fun! And gotta love Goldstar's prices.

Very talented individuals. However I have been to other Groundlings nights. It was not as funny as other nights but it still is always fun to be there.

It was fun to be in a young audience instead of the usual gray-haired crowd that I see. Very lively, very clever.

Great cast. Funny sketchy. Good times.

Sunday Company has the hungriest comedy writer/performers in all of L.A. I'm consistently impressed and entertained by their creativity and sheer output of material!

The pointless little skit about Angelyne lacked any wit. It was character assassination written on a day when they couldn’t come up with anything funny. It was so tonedeaf that the actress didn’t seem to realize she was imitating Anna Nicole Smith. Had nothing at all to do with Angelyne, and no humor anyway.

We enjoyed Enter the Sunday very much. Very talented young people and good background music between scenes. Some of the skits were fantastic! Thanks.

We were terribly disappointed by this show. We've seen the Groundling's sketch shows many times, but we feel this was the weakest one. The skits started off with a bang and never acheived a laugh. Save your money and go to another one of their shows instead.

I have been to a number of Sunday night Groundlings shows, and this one was really sub-par. My standards for the Groundlings are high based on past shows. The skits were at times painfully weak, and far less imaginative than usual. Also, there were hardly any improvs this time around (perhaps a choice by a new director?). Still some laughs, though - inevitably, with a talented cast - just not nearly as many as I've come to expect.

good show, solid comedy. great improv.

Overall, as usual, I was entertained with the improv/sketched comedy that the groundlings typically offers. This time around.. Voyage of the bottom of the Sunday...it had some quality sketchs but in comparison to the Friday and Saturday performances.. it didn't leave me on the "edge of my seat" from begining to end. This time around, it started slow but ended with a bang which I usually expected.

We enjoyed ourselves! It was a great value per laugh as well. A couple of the sketches were side-splitting. We recommend this event for a good time!

Good comedy troupe. Some of the sketches are better than others but a very enjoyable, economical way to spend a Sunday night before heading back to the drudge of work on Monday.

It was fun and enjoyable. It was good to do something different on a Sunday night.

Not nearly as enjoyable as previous event attended at Groundlings.

My husband and I really enjoyed the show and we highly recommend it to others.

some new cast members but as always very funny.

Awesome comedy talent....

Consistently hilarious show every week! Great place to take out of towners, parents, or a group of friends!

The BEST sketch and improv show west of the Mississippi!

Very funnny! Nice small theatre. Good price.

It was a great way to spend a Sunday evening with friends ... laughing for a couple of hours. And the warm chocolate chip cookies at intermission are a necessary indulgence.

the show was fine, some of the material was a bit over the top, and not something i connected with too well. also not a very diverse group of artists. some of the skits were funny, but became less funny by the time they were over. loved the skit about the older couple! def some talented folks. liked the live music piece. overall, it was fun.

The current version of the Sunday Company is smaller this time around (9 members), so everyone gets plenty of moments to shine. You can tell this cast is in the zone. Everyone is working well together in each others' sketches. The comedy is firing on all cylinders! Definitely recommended!!

Very funny!

One of the best deals on Goldstar and in L.A. Always entertaining and a great time.

Every skit was thigh slapping funny. The show lasted the entire evening and was great!!!

Not for youngsters, but a great show for adults.

the groundlings live up to their amazing reputation! a lot of fun, and non stop laughs!

some very fun sketches!

Funny show, the groundlings almost always knock it out of the park.

My husband & I were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful talent and the handful of laughs provided by The Groundlings' Troupe. My 19-year old son said it was "pretty good" although he only enjoyed about 3-4 of the vignettes. I think perhaps the content of this show was geared towards an older crowd than himself, but all around, it was an enjoyable night for the 3 of us (especially the smell of homebaked chocolate chip cookies wafting through the hallways!) You can't beat the price for a terrific night out on the town.

The Groundlings are always entertaining, and a few big laughs are almost guaranteed any night you go.

The actors were witty as was the dialog funny & witty, quick paced, and I didn't want it to end!

Wicked Sundays was nice not only because of the thoroughly entertaining skits, but also because the theater wasn't too crowded or too empty. I'm guessing Friday or Sturday nights are packed. Great place to take a date or friend.

It was fun. The actor broke a chair in the middle of an improv session...so hilarity ensued. But, this is definitely low key and casual. No 2 drink minimum! :)

Show was very entertaining and I was a bit worried that it might be really off-color or raunchy - but it was great, funny with just the right edge! First time to Groundlings - will definitely be back.

What a great troupe all around!! There are definitely some stand outs but consistent laughs all night- check it out!

The Sunday Company really has talented comedians! I've followed several of the members since their early workshop days, and it's amazing to see how they've flourished into great writers/performers! It's seriously my new Saturday Night Live! I look forward to it every week!

Hilarious sketch comedy, really strong performances all around!

Always funny. Can't go wrong.

VERY FUNNY! Go see the Groundlings - it's a treat!!

Great show as usual!!!

LOVED IT!!!!!!!!! Seen the Groundlings 3 times..always brilliant
