Sunday night sessions are always the best. The night i visited "the Sunday"
Loren Micheal's was escorted to his seat just as the lights dropped.
I am certain the cast knew the boss was in the crowd shopping for his fall cast.

I think he saw some amazing talent. Or at least I did.
You can attend any night of the Groundlings.. but the Sunday session
    is my favorite.

As act two started - Micheal's stayed threw the second sketch - then flew off to some of the Sunday comedy clubs gigs in LA to continue this quest for a revamped 09 SNL fall cast.

If he cast any of the actors i saw Sunday night.. It would be an amazing new group of funny over the top talent for SNL 09/10

go see Sunday sessions at the Groundlings -- then walk to PINKS
for the Rosie O'Donnell dog - Yumm

This was a sketch show, not improv. Only two of the sketches made me belly-laugh. The balance of the sketches were clever concepts that lacked good closure. However, if you like SNL's work, this will be a fun time. The talent is evident, the risks are minimal, and the assumptions that the actors ask the audience to make are little. All in all, the troupe was engaging with some highlights of genius.

Gosh dang was this Sunday show awesome. The best Groundlings Sunday show I have been to yet. The actors were super professional. I didn't see them crack a smile or laugh one bit during their hilarious bits. I loved it. SNL writers should take some tips from this ensemble. They are doing it right

I have been to a few of Enter The Sunday shows and they're truly amazing! I laugh so hard that my face hurts! The improvs are incredible! Everyone of them is so talented! I must say, however, that Jillian Bell really shines in every one of her skits. Alex and Taran are also incredible and talented actors as well! Definitely see this show...you won't regret it! Well, you may regret it because your face is going to hurt from laughing when you leave!

It was funny--parts of it. Definitely could have done with the obscenity in some of the skits. You can be funny without having a trashy mouth. However, Eileen O'Connoll (?) killed us with her characters, as did Sarah Baker and Dana Powell. If you want to see funny women, this is the show. the men weren't that funny.

3, but not 4 stars. I thought it was good, worth a night out and I definitely had some good laughs. Not every skit hit the mark, but that's to be expected. I did expect more improv though, it was more like watching SNL in person.

I loved it. It was very funny. The actors work very hard and you can SEE that in their performances. I will be telling as many people as I can get to listen to me, to go and see Voyage to the Bottom or the Sunday. It is definitely worth the time and money. Anyone who enjoys comedy and live performances should see this show. Without hesitation it was purely hilarious and fun.

I thought it was a very solid show. It was mostly sketches, with one or two improv bits thrown in. As with all sketch comedy, some sketches were better than others, but even the mediocre ones had their moments, and the best ones had people howling. The tone ranged from completely absurdist to realist, with a lot in between.

I read some other reviews and figured, I'm up for a few laughs. BOY WAS I WRONG. This was by far the most pathetic excuse for comedy I've ever seen. The acting was fine in parts, but the writing was atrocious. This was the most amateurish crap you can imagine. I left at intermission and was very close to asking for my money back. Whoever is responsible for the writing of these skits needs to be looking for a new job. I can honestly say, my 8 year old Niece has more talent.

Just not my dish of fish--the rest of the audience seemed to love it. I was mistakenly thinking it was going to be improv, but it was sketch comedy--crude humor based rather than more character based, so it wasn't for me. A few sketches were okay--one about a seance, and one with two tough girls in an acting class....

For the price (less than a movie ticket through Goldstar) you simply cannot beat this for entertainment! A really wonderful time! But be warned -- if you sit in the front, you are fair game! My husband was pulled up on stage and forced to sing "I'm a Man!" in front of everyone! Hilarious!!! And Caffe Angeli across the street was *lovely* as a pre-show meal! Fresh beet and ricotta gnocchi! Mmmmmmm!

This is a good fun night out. It's a small friendly little stage and a fun atmosphere; lots of young TV wannabees in attendance. It's mostly self-written sketches from the Groundlings school with the odd bit of improv. As such, some sketches are brilliant; some are a great idea just not pulled off; others fall a little flat. But that's what the show is all about - testing out ideas on and characters in front of a paying audience. Recommended.

The theatre was nice and cool on a hot, end-of-the-summer night. Good amount of seating, even with a large audience. The cast is very talented and funny, we laughed for two hours straight! The band is great, played a wide range of music. Scenes moved along flawlessly, and the improvs were funny also. Great cast, crew, and staff! My date and I had a great time, will definitely go back again, and tell our friends too!

I loved Enter the Sunday! All of the actors were immensely talented. Usually in sketch shows, there are only a few standouts, but in Enter the Sunday, more than half of them were extremely funny! My favorite sketch was the one with the Brownies. Pure hilarity! The show starts at 7:30 PM and we didn't get out until 10:00 PM! What a great bargain for $7.50 plus service fees. Bonus: Lorne Michaels was there last night scoping out the talent. It was totally cool to hear THE Lorne Michaels cracking up right behind me!

The pointless little skit about Angelyne lacked any wit. It was character assassination written on a day when they couldn’t come up with anything funny. It was so tonedeaf that the actress didn’t seem to realize she was imitating Anna Nicole Smith. Had nothing at all to do with Angelyne, and no humor anyway.

We were terribly disappointed by this show. We've seen the Groundling's sketch shows many times, but we feel this was the weakest one. The skits started off with a bang and never acheived a laugh. Save your money and go to another one of their shows instead.

I have been to a number of Sunday night Groundlings shows, and this one was really sub-par. My standards for the Groundlings are high based on past shows. The skits were at times painfully weak, and far less imaginative than usual. Also, there were hardly any improvs this time around (perhaps a choice by a new director?). Still some laughs, though - inevitably, with a talented cast - just not nearly as many as I've come to expect.

Overall, as usual, I was entertained with the improv/sketched comedy that the groundlings typically offers. This time around.. Voyage of the bottom of the Sunday...it had some quality sketchs but in comparison to the Friday and Saturday performances.. it didn't leave me on the "edge of my seat" from begining to end. This time around, it started slow but ended with a bang which I usually expected.

My husband & I were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful talent and the handful of laughs provided by The Groundlings' Troupe. My 19-year old son said it was "pretty good" although he only enjoyed about 3-4 of the vignettes. I think perhaps the content of this show was geared towards an older crowd than himself, but all around, it was an enjoyable night for the 3 of us (especially the smell of homebaked chocolate chip cookies wafting through the hallways!) You can't beat the price for a terrific night out on the town.

It was fun. The actor broke a chair in the middle of an improv session...so hilarity ensued. But, this is definitely low key and casual. No 2 drink minimum! :)

Show was very entertaining and I was a bit worried that it might be really off-color or raunchy - but it was great, funny with just the right edge! First time to Groundlings - will definitely be back.

The Sunday Company really has talented comedians! I've followed several of the members since their early workshop days, and it's amazing to see how they've flourished into great writers/performers! It's seriously my new Saturday Night Live! I look forward to it every week!
