Pianist Mona Golabek pays moving tribute to her pianist mother -- a survivor of the Holocaust and the London Blitzkrieg -- in this hit concert drama directed by audience favorite Hershey Felder. Golabek, seated onstage at the piano, performs some of the world's most beloved piano music while sharing harrowing true tales of her mother's life. As a young Jewish pianist in 1938 Vienna, Golabek's mother, Lisa Jura, dreamt of a concert debut at the storied Musikverein concert hall. But when she was swept up in the Kindertransport to London in an attempt to be protected from the Nazi regime, everything about Jura's life was upended -- except her love of music. The Los Angeles Times calls The Pianist of Willesden Lane "an arresting, deeply affecting triumph." Learn More

It was a rare pleasure to see such a wonderful, creative production especially made for children. The actors were lively, they managed to actively involve the audience. The costumes were exceptionally well done, just very basic additions to their black outfits. There was music and dancing, hand puppets, shadow puppets, an impressive giant puppet, a live parrot, and even an informative question and answer session at the end. Bravo to all who were responsible for putting this show together.
Conceived and directed by Perry Daniel. Curated by Professor Patricia Harter.
Tall Tales is best suited for 5 to 11 year olds, but children of other ages are welcome and may appreciate it as well. The show is not recommended for toddlers/infants age 18 months or younger.
