OMG was this fun. I had three teenagers with me (only one was a fanatical HP fan) and we had a blast. The games "forced" us to meet and interact with our wonderful tablemates. The tea was plentyful and the food good. I will definately go back. I just wished we had dressed up. The staff made it really fun without be cheezy.

My husband and I took our 8 and 9 year olds. They are Harry Potter fans. We all had a SUPER time. Costumes are fun. Parents join in the fun and games too! Kids wore witch and wizard hats that we purchased there just prior to the event. Hogwarts uniforms and capes were too spendy for our pockets.

Again, we had a lot of fun. We love playing the games. We whis there had been more like they had at Mother's Day. Four musician's seemed a little much. However, the last one got everyone going. This time we came early and had plenty of time to shop. Will we be back, oh most definately.

Wow, we were expecting a stodgy old tea. This one was fun for both adults and kids alike. Yes, there was the standard fare--a much better than expected assortment of teas, finger sandwiches for both meat eaters and vegetarians, scones with cream and preserves, and a fabulous assortment of sweets. The service was super--everyone really friendly and helpful--and the tea and treats kept coming. The thing that made this most special was the ambiance.
This was not an old lady's tea party, with fancy lace and doilies. This was a fantasy-lovers tea party, in a castle-like setting resembling the Great Hall from the Harry Potter films. We didn't sit on plush chairs, but rather on rugged benches, as the young wizards do in the films. There were even floating candles. We are Harry Potter geeks, so we couldn't have felt more elated. I suspect that those who are into any castle-themed fantasies, such as Lord of the Rings, Knights of the Round Table, Henry VIII, Robin Hood, Renaissance Faire, or just about anything Shakespearian or Disneyesque would find this as much of a visual treat as we did. The Tea was well worth the price of admission even if it included nothing else.
But it did. The tea we went to included a magic act. The magician, Jonathan Castile, performed a personal show for small groups -- and then a large show for everyone. He was extremely entertaining for kids and adults alike.
Unlike most magicians I've seen, Jonathan tailored his act to wizard-world fans rather than just performing the usual card tricks. I won't say much so as not to ruin the show for future guests. (Not that it's pertinent, but my friend thought that Jonathan was great eye candy.)

What made this event even more special is that they had games that everyone could get involved in. The Harry Potter trivia games may have left some of the less geeky among us behind, but there were more than enough games that involved everyone equally, regardless of their knowledge level. For example, there was a Harry Potter Bingo that everyone could play. And a Harry Potter word search. The games had prizes and we won one of them, so that made the event even more rewarding.

It's my understanding that Whimsic Alley offers these teas on a monthly basis, each with a different theme. So while the one we attended featured the magic show, future ones are featuring fortune tellers and Harry Potter look-alike characters.
