Great show, very funny. Eddie Izzard was a surprise guest that night (6-21-06). Get there early though, or else you might not get to sit with your group (it's a very small theater).

I went with colleagues from work as a team building event and we laughed vigorously throughout the entire show. It has been about a month since we went and we are still talking about how much fun we had.

I laughed so hard I became annoying to the other people trying to watch the show. I think I will change my career and devote the rest of my life to mastering the art of improv as the Groundlings have certainly done. We could all use a little laughter around the time of this tragic anniversary.

I expected this to be a lot funnier based on the other reviews. My boyfriend and I found it to be a bit dull and were both relieved when it was over. The Improv show at the crummy theater in Sherman Oaks was so much funnier. It was lower budget, but I laughed and laughed. This show had some funny moments, but overall I did not enjoy it that much. Like I said, I had higher expectatioins for this show and it was a disappointment. Some of the actors were very talented though.

Fun show, and quick thinking performers. If you have a hankering for an improv show, this is a good one.

Don't bring your kids as this show usually gets a little ranchy.

I'd heard of The Groundlings but this was my first experience seeing them perform. I knew it was an improv show, but that was about it. Most of my improv experience has come from "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and I was expecting something similar.

The format of the show was very different than any improv show I'd seen before, but it was absolutely HILARIOUS! The performers were fantastic and REALLY funny and the theater is very intimate, so every seat is a good seat. I'd see them again in a heartbeat!

Maya Rudolph from SNL was the guest performer last night, a Wednesday night, and it was a full house. Everyone in the cast is very talented. It's amazing how quickly they come up with the ideas. What's very interesting to me is trying to figure out what's going on with which character(s) as the performers are clueing in themselves. Some material was chuckle funny while some others were LOL funny. The show runs about 1 1/2 hours with one intermission and it's time well spent. My friends and I even had enough time afterward to go grab dinner. The theatre is pretty small and a bit cramped and parking on Melrose has always been a bitch. The Groundlings are such a big part of LA history. Everyone should go at least once to experience how talented these performers are.

We always have a great time at the groundlings. You can't go wrong with their late night shows which are a similar format to the "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" improv shows you see on TV. We tend to like them better than the more rehearsed performances because you never know what you are going to see....

The show was slightly entertaining, but could have definitely been better. I did not find it very funny and thought the actors were trying too hard to make their acts funny when they were a lost cause.

The randomness of it was a blast, very fast paced. Sometimes it was hard to understand the actors, but we laughed a lot last night. Just the thing we needed after a bad day! :-)

btw, we valet'ed at Lalas down the street, which was a great idea.

The show was OK. ome very clever moments, some weak moments. Very talented group! However, it would have been better if the format changed more, especially for the second half of the show! Was disappointed that no guest stars showed up! Crowded room, we sat in the last row, with bottles under the seats near the sewer pipes! People were texting and talking during show-a big distraction! Excellent effort by promising improv group!

What a HOOT! Unusual suggestions from the audience provides the jumping off point to start the show going. Once the idea is established, the actors take off! There is no holding them back. They say things that make you think they came from a dysfunctional family and can now say everything that they have been suppressing for years. This is funny, funny and more funny. Better than anything on TV on Wednesday nights and the same price as a movie, but more entertaining. Worth a night out and it ends around 9:30 so you are still home at a acceptable hour so you don't have to sleep at your desk the following day. You will not be disappointed for your effort. The Parking is the worse part of the adventure.

This was my first time at a Wednesday show, and I was very impressed. Instead of sketch comedy, the performers take a few random improv suggestions and then weave together a complex and hilarious story with so many characters you have to wonder how they keep them straight. You have to see it to believe it. Very funny.

My teenage daughter is involved in improv, so our family decided to see some heavy hitters during our visit to LA. The show was fantastic; by far the best improv I've ever seen. The players worked so well together, it was almost as though they were reading each other's minds. Sometimes long-form improv can get really bogged down, but there was a lot of discipline in this show -- the individual vignettes were very brief, and the segues were always funny and clever. Highly recommended.

      I gave " The Crazy Uncle Joe Show " a solid A+

We attended the show with about 90 fraternity boys and about 5 other adult couples. The fraternity kids seemed to enjoy the show, but it was not to our liking. Very often, when one actor tried to develop an idea, which we were interested in hearing, another actor would immediately interrupt and take the story in another direction. Some actors seemed to "hog" the time. We didn't find it especially funny and only somewhat creative. Why is it called The Crazy Uncle Joe Show?

My girlfriend and I went to the crazy uncle joe show yesterday expecting it to be hilarious. Some parts were funny, most weren't. We Didn't get a lot of the jokes. Must give props to them for being able to act and think so quick on their feet, but if your looking for laugh out loud comedy you probably will want to go to a show at the improv or another comedy club.

Low key, off the cuff, balls-to-the wall hilarity! This show was a great way to perk up the middle of our week, and the price was nice too.
It's not as polished as the Friday or Saturday shows (and with a different, less structured format), but the Wednesday troupe's improv skills are still good for more than a couple of hard teary guffaws.
      Big thumbs up.
