In the summer of 1969 as Neil Armstrong made his historic walk on the Moon, the world seemed open to endless possibilities, and three teen-aged friends from L.A.'s Westside set out on a six-week tour to see America. Now, 25 years later, in a very changed world, Paul Lewin tries to figure out how his relationship with his former best friend faded over the years. Guided by memories and music from his past, Paul begins a new sort of journey in this world premiere play by Richard Martin Hirsch. Learn More

Intense, moving production. Excellent acting. The mother's character, especially, rang very true to me (unfortunately). Great theatre and great folks on staff.Written on Mar 29 2012

theatre experience--great play (although not for those who might not enjoy the family battles--both physical and mental), great cast, great set, great
props, lights, sound, costumes, great direction. Too bad there were empty seats in the theatre--it should have been standing room only!

Description
Kenny lived his life in secret. His mother and sister travel to an unfamiliar town looking for answers. With the help of a local policewoman they uncover tragic truths about him, their family and themselves. Playwright Johnson's funny and harrowing play explores the treacherous terrain of parent/child relationships, where everything changes, yet always remains the same.
Joel Drake Johnson is a critically acclaimed playwright who is interested in creating stories with characters who, despite their flaws and tragic set backs, push themselves on to an enlightened understanding of their place in the world.
