The opening act, Electric Touch, was an unexpected surprise. They played their asses off, they were hungry, and it showed. In fact, the first two acts, Electric Touch and The Airborne Toxic Event managed to completely upstage and outshine The Fratellis in almost every aspect of their respective performances. That's not to say The Fratellis weren't good, they were awesome, but they didn't seem to capture the energy or the excitement that the other two bands created. Also, the sound kind of sucked for The Fratellis; especially the drums, which were way too huge sounding (think Van-Halen-in-an-arena huge) for their brit-poppy sound. Overall, though, it was a great show and the three bands together were a perfect billing; extremely well suited for one another.

I felt badly that they didn't have a bigger audience.

This was an amazing show that I caught for FREE (+ svc fee) thanks to GoldStar! The tix indicated upstairs mezzanine, but since it was a GA show, I was able to stand with the other GA folks downstairs without issue. The best spots to catch the bands is immediately behind the elevated railings. Otherwise, you'll be creening your head behind all the tall dudes in front of you. If you're one of the first 150ppl in line, you'll get a special bracelet that will allow front/center access (GA shows only).

Not the best of shows, but they have enough good songs that overall I'd give them a thumbs up. Fratelli's understated performance and absolutely no frills showmanship was serviceable, since they played most fan favorites from first album interspersed with o.k. songs from new album. Crowd was rather sedate. So maybe it reflected in the mood of the band. But, they had me up singing almost half the time.

Great concert in a beautiful venue. Both the Fratellis and openers The Airborne Toxic Event were great. Loads of audience energy. Just a fun night!

I loved the show; they have compositions while other bands have songs. His voice was better in person than on the CD, how did that happen?

The Fratellis were good, but I think the Wiltern was a terrible venue. Nicely structured, but the sound is awful. At first I just thought the opening band sucked. But when the Fratellis came on and the sound was just as bad, it either had to be the venue or a terrible sound guy.

Music was great!!!! Was SO pleasantly surprised with the opening bands. Electric Touch was great as was Airborne Toxic Event. And, of course, The Fratellis totally rocked!!! Mezzanine seats at the Wiltern were GREAT!!!

Electric Touch, The Airborne Toxic Event, and the Fratellis were awesome. I have to admit being there for the Airborne Toxic Event but found myself really enjoying Electric Touch and The Fratellis too.

Glasgow buzz band The Fratellis rock The Wiltern. This show is in support of their new album Here We Stand. Opening acts are The Airborne Toxic Event and Electric Touch.
A brashly melodic indie rock outfit from Glasgow, The Fratellis feature vocalist/guitarist Jon Fratelli, drummer Mince Fratelli and bassist Barry Fratelli. The witty trio played its first show in early 2005, maintaining that the band's moniker was merely an homage to Barry's original surname (however, other rumors suggest that the Fratellis borrowed it from the nemesis family featured in Steven Spielberg's film The Goonies). Such trivia only added to The Fratellis' growing appeal upon their performance debut, and the band's limited-edition self-titled EP arrived in April 2006.
The bands full length debut, Costello Music, followed in September and features the singles "Chelsea Dagger" and "Flathead", the latter of which was chosen for an iPod commercial. Rolling Stone stated "Costello is like a madcap Glasgow pub crawl: It makes you elated in the moment and sorry when it's over." Their new album Here We Stand was released in June of 2008 and includes the new single "Mistress Mabel."
