Set during the rural economic slowdown of the 1970s, playwright Sam Shepard's universally acclaimed Buried Child resonates as strongly today as it did when it launched Shepard's career in 1978. A Pulitzer winner for drama, Buried Child makes for a fierce, forceful and unforgettable portrayal of the realities of the American Dream. The realistic masterpiece mixes comedy and drama, keen commentary and deep emotion in a squalid farm home occupied by a clan filled with suppressed violence, apparent unhappiness and dark secrets. A wildly creative play with a cheeky, Alice in wonderland-like feel to it. The show had plenty of laughs and was well written, directed, and acted.

This was by far one of the funniest plays I have seen in a long time. The self-reflexive quality and over the top humor had me laughing so hard I was crying.
