I went with a friend who was impressed with the 'smokey blues feel' but I would have to say a smokey speak easy feel is more accurate. (I don't like smoke but endured it for the show). Toledo came out with a piece at the beginning that reminded me of 'hypnotic blues rock' like Led Zeppelin and 'When the Levee Breaks' but the other pieces did not repeat that feeling...moving into rap and poetry instead with Toledo's gravelly voice sometimes speaking , sometimes singing a riff...His back up dancers were interesting with burlesque/stripper moves and connection to his songs...even a little s&m towards the end of the show. The guy with the bull whip came out briefly at the beginning. I would like to see more choreography with his part and certainly more dance moves by Toledo who can easily pull it off. Kudos to the excellent band--all the instruments played well, gotta love that sax....
