I would say this show was good if we were having a funeral for Ireland and mourning it's loss. It was grim. But everyone performing seemed to really have a deep love of Ireland. If I would have known it was going to be this type of show, I would have stayed home with my Irish Rovers CD.Written on Mar 18 2011

"This Is Ireland" was a good show but did not focus on Ireland and its music. Though a soprano sang a piece from Madama Butterfly beautifully, I would have preferred a song of Ireland and the same goes for the Irish Black American who sang a contemporary piece which had no reference to Ireland. There was a large movie screen above the orchestra which could have been used more effectively showing Ireland of the present and of the past-instead it was wasted.Written on Mar 18 2011

This was the first year of this event, so there were a few snags. The first half dragged a bit, but the second half had more energy, more coherence, and better content.Written on Mar 18 2011
I'll definitely make this an annual event!

A good variety of music, theater and poetry, in a artistic journey through the history of Ireland. The musicians and singers were excellent, as were the actors. It was not a slick production, and though it had its bumps, clearly this was put together as a labor of love by the conductor and the producers. I hope they do something again next year, and next time bring the Guinness to serve at intermission:)Written on Mar 18 2011
