Family isn't just the most important thing in life -- it's everything. This powerful play follows the struggles of a family trying to hold on through the teenage years of the two children, a typical daughter and a severely autistic son. Eighteen-year-old Josh throws everything out of balance on a normal day. When a relative comes to visit, everyone loses equilibrium completely as they each try to do what's best for the family while still pursuing what's best for themselves. Learn More

The acting was very good. However, the play itself was thoroughly depressing. The three permutations of the final solution seemed all equally bleak: Joint suicide, one partner's suicide, leaving the other partner behind or the reverse. Add the trials and tribulations of aging to the mix (beginning Alzheimers, incontinence, cancer) and things are completely black. It is not a well balanced play. There could have been a better relationship with the daughter, maybe the joy of grandchildren, any positive aspect of a life well lived. G.H.
