Gipsy Kings, featuring Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo, return to the Greek Theatre to celebrate their 25th anniversary under the stars in L.A. Already an international hit, the Gipsy Kings burst onto the American music scene with their 1989 self-titled album release. The Gipsy Kings introduced millions of U.S. listeners to the band's unique, irresistible blend of traditional flamenco styles with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Since then, the band has toured virtually non-stop, to the farthest-flung corners of the planet, and sold almost twenty million albums, all the while retaining the same line-up of virtuoso musicians. Their music has been featured on television in such diverse projects as Dancing With the Stars, Entourage and movies such as Toy Story 3, Fearless and The Big Lebowski. The Gipsy Kings' most recent album Savor Flamenco won a 2014 Grammy for Best World Music Album. Expect to hear songs from Savor Flamenco as well as old favorites in this exciting outdoor show. The opening act is Ole' Noys, the sons of the Gipsy Kings' Tonino Baliardo and Nicolas Reyes. Learn More
Captive parking. $12.00. Considering most L.A. parking fees are pretty reasonable, even the Chandler Pavilion UCLA has a lot of nerve charging for that charge for parking off-hours in what is largely an empty lot.Tune-In Festival L.A.: eighth blackbird travel • Mar 31 2014 star this tip starred

“Quartet playing of the highest order … truly fabulous.” —The London Times
Since its beginnings in 1969 as a young firebrand quartet out of Juilliard, to its current stature as one of the today’s supreme chamber ensembles, the Tokyo String Quartet has captivated international audiences and critics alike with its remarkable finesse and elegance, performing with “breathless pianissimos, a full spectrum of impressionistic colors and extraordinary intense passion” The Strad. This Grammy-nominated ensemble will be joined by clarinetist Sabine Meyer in a program that includes Mozart’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in A major.
