Academy Award-winner Olympia Dukakis (Moonstruck, Steel Magnolias) comes to the stage at the Mark Taper Forum as Grace in Vigil. Written and directed by Morris Panych (Girl in the Goldfish Bowl), this dark, heartfelt comedy finds Grace on her deathbed -- but she's not quite dying fast enough for her nephew Kemp (Marco Barricelli), who has travelled across the country to be with her in her final moments. Gallows humor and quirky takes on humanity and mortality fuel Vigil's delightfully dark narrative.

Marco Barricelli was terrific as the nephew. Olympia Dukakis has only a small amount of dialog and handled her role with finesse. The story is entertaining with a fun twist. Every seat in this theater is good. My entire group enjoyed the show.

Hubs and Daughter (18) went and thought it was very good. Don't expect a tour de force from Olympia Dukakis, who is near death and speaks very little in this interesting production. The young man who holds vigil is very good, and you will enjoy this production.

I thought it was very entertaining, but please keep in mind i like black comedies and sarcasm, a lot!! If you don't then you may not enjoy this play. However, if you feel adventurous and keep an open mind, you will like this play.
