Eric Idle's "What About Dick?" was the best entertainment I have been to all year. The cast was AMAZING-- hand picked and bursting with talent, there will never be such an array of perfect actors and actresses for these roles. The play was quick, witty, and jubilant-- if I missed a line of dialogue I could not ask my friend what it was for the next line was already being delivered, and you do not want to miss a single line of this play! I want desperately to have the script so I can start quoting Idle's perfect schemes on words, which I liken much to Shakespeare.
My only disappointment is in not knowing when I might be able to see this who again, for if I could have "hit repeat", I would still be watching and laughing harder every time!

Classic Eric Idle. As others have said here, I feel that the script contained a tad too many dick jokes, but was funny and the excellent cast wowed us all. Remarkable players .. unforgettable performances. It was beyond great to see Eddie, Tracy, Jane, Tim et al performing ANYTHING together. The sound effects were fun and well-performed. All in all, to attend was a priveledge.

Though it was amazing to see the extremely talented cast assembled in one place, the show itself was not very good.
The actual 'story' was very difficult/impossible to follow (I am still not sure if the piano was a metaphor or not!). Though there were many clever, witty lines, unfortunately, it wasn't enough; it just never gelled.
The music and foley stuff was really well executed, however.
If it was a work in progress, it still needs a LOT of work; it had plenty of laughs, now it needs an actual story.

<p>Only once in a lifetime there comes a cast like this -- Billy Connolly, Tim Curry, Eric Idle, Eddie Izzard, Jane Leeves, Emily Mortimer, Jim Piddock, and Tracy Ullman -- well twice actually in this case since there are only two performances. But if you miss both occasions then you can tell your grandchildren you weren't there either of the days they did that thing you missed. The music is by Idle's Spamalot partner John Du Prez and the sound effects artist is Tony Palermo. This exclusive pre-sale offers enables Goldstar members to buy tickets first, before the public (and hopefully you will buy them all and you will have the place to yourselves and no one else will get in).
