Wild, risqué, and ferociously playful, Joe Orton's riotous farce is one of the seminal works of modern comedy. When a psychiatrist tries to seduce an aspiring secretary, his botched efforts lead to comic bedlam involving his insatiable wife, a randy bellhop, a befuddled police officer and ultimately, the formidable manhood of Sir Winston Churchill. The topics of psychiatry, religion, marriage, government, definitions of gender and even simple language are the target of British playwright Orton's sly jokes and hilarious shenanigans.

Now, 25 years later, in a very changed world, Paul Lewin tries to figure out how his relationship with his former best friend faded over the years. Delightfully entertaining production of this somewhat atypical sex farce. Orton's writing is not as funny ha-ha and less physical as most British farces and is based largely on the actors' delivery of his text. This cast does a great job and their pace is just right allowing the audience to savour Orton's craft. Keeping in mind that this is a sex farce, the cast is also aesthetically pleasing and well chosen. Great evening out.Written on Feb 03 2012

I don't think it was as funny as they probably hoped it would be, but it was still very entertaining. The acting by the entire cast was excellent and made the play that much more enjoyable.Written on Mar 20 2012

Very outdated farce that was difficult to watch. Actors were good but material wasn't worth it.Written on Mar 19 2012
