    This class will focus on learning to prepare complementary frostings for cakes. Students will learn about and make traditional American buttercream, Italian Meringue buttercream, fruit purees/compotes, fruit glazes and dark chocolate ganache. The bakery bakes and provides the mini bundt cakes that the students will then frost, taste and eat.

    What's on top of your cake should compliment, not overwhelm or overpower the cake itself. Good frosting isn't overly sweet and serves as an accent to your cake.

    Class will pay special attention to frosting techniques, as well as nuances/differences between each frosting type. Students will learn how to fill and manage/hold a decorating bag, will also learn about frosting tips. You will learn "The Swirl" or Soft Serve Method, as well as "Push Down/Pull Up", Drop Flowers and Rosettes.
